Hi

In my first growing season, (2022) i took the plunge with Fastbuds Autos. I did not regret it and was very impressed. it makes growing cannabis incredibly simple.

I had (in my mind) terrific success outdoors, but to be fair the weather was scorching. I got 100g from 4 plants (2xpurple punch and 2xTangieMatic) Both flowers smelt beautiful and were pleasing to the eye. The mix was 50:50 Garden Soil / Peat compost with added grit and a handfull of fish blood and bone. the pots were about 15lt maybe, i didn't feed them at all, it was organic

I am following an identical method for this years plants, with the addition of a side by side comparison: One of each hybrid will be grown in the ground (my garden bed), which has been conditioned with peat and multi purpose compost a few years back and fish blood and bone annually, The soil is a Silty Clay Loam with quite a lot of grit

The remaining plants will be grown in the same pots as last year (15lt ish)

Buds look alright from last year.
You have made an early start for auto's. The last likely frost date is still a month away. Are you going for a second run straight after? July/August is the best window for an auto. Especially from a Californian breeder.

Most UK guys are seeing a Dutch climate. Giving you access to strains developed and tested for decades in your climate. Just over the North Sea. While those a bit further north than you, do well with semi-auto's which is almost a one horse race in seedbank terms. Real Gorilla Seeds.

You should really come away from recent seedbanks in different climate zones.

^^ UK so no customs nonsense. More grow reports than you can shake a stick at. By far the most used by UK gorilla growers, with half a dozen top performing lines. There is no problem leaving most in a field, and coming back to 5 or 6 oz late August.

Some other banks do have stuff I personally prefer, but no other has such a number of top performers.

I found the Auto's to be in a bit of a rush for our weather. They didn't get big enough. I had high hopes for them, but it's a niche product. I too was getting an oz each, if I was lucky. Not the 8-12oz those same conditions allow.

@Ca++

Thanks for the input. yes i plan to run a second crop which i will sow July. which is 2 x Jack Herer auto and 2 x citrus something auto

i definitely get your point on using plants that are bred in the same climate, makes total sense

Each night my small pots come indoors to benefit from my underfloor heating and go back out he next day to get the natural light. once planted up into the big pots its possible to bring them indoors if there is a risk of a frost.

I like the fact the auto are small plants it suits my garden, but agree wish the yield was higher.

I have seen real gorilla seeds and would definitely go for these outdoor grows they look great i am a sucker fro a landrace plant and i've already sown 26 Nanda Devi seeds (another plant from a different climate) from RSC company so that will probably be enough to be getting on with this season - but i think i will go for real gorilla next season and might get serious with the outdoor growing.

Its hot and you still have a little time to go before flowering is over. Your plants are looking good friend. I love how you have a cover built for your plants. 👍
