Another year,

upgrades from last year are:

- 8’ tposts so no wonky rope rigging, 6’ of verticals support
- Rope tied tight holding the trellis taughtly around each 4 sides
- Worm castings
- The trellis is a 6” square, 5’ wide. I bought a 350’ roll for $100

The strains are:

pineapple skunk
Purple kush

Yes second year with the bags, they held up to the Canadian winter perfectly, minus damage from a pole


I’m building a greenhouse for the vegetable garden so ignore the mess in the photo.
all the plants are taking to training, but I also haven’t fed them anything but the worm castings. I just picked up some Gia green 4.4.4 and their power bloom, bat guano, and was giving some molasses to try for later. I will feed them one heavy dose of veg top dressing to get them threw July.

So here we are in between rain and casual sun the next 4 days. The plants are super bushy and healthy. They have only been fed 30L of worm castings each. During which I have been doing mild training since the first major at planting.

This week I have given each plant 4L of Gaia green 4.4.4 which is a full strength dose. The plants will have a little shock but should eat it all up happily. The rain and shady weather should help them from getting to stressed.

I have begun my second heavy training, bending many of the branches, most of which has been trained quite heavily horizontally. I still have to remove a lot of exposed fan leaves as well as small branches that offer no value. I hope to be done by next weeks update

This will be the last heavy training of the season, giving it 5 weeks of veg before the first week of transition. From now on it’s defoliating and training nodes to fill gaps till August.

Any idea what’s eating my plants?

I’ve set up sticky pads to show anything early not to prevent, plus I have ant traps at the base to prevent the ants from farming aphids this year, and I checked under the leaves and didn’t see a culprit. but of course every year is different and a new bug has arrived.

I have insecticide but want to make sure it will cover what’s eating my plants before I spray the area

Looks like classic spider mite damage to my old ass , but anything`s possible where you are up north.....look underneath with a scope to see the lil bastards …..many sprays at the big box stores with stuff to get rid of em …….Monterrey Garden Spray comes to mind among many others...…

The pesticide I have will work, once I get a bottle of concentrated fungicide I’ll be mixing them and spraying weekly till bloom. I have a 2gal sprayer that will be just for them. I also will be getting some diatomaceous earth to dust mid week. Not letting bugs infest this years crops!!
