...just now beginning to show florescence...so anyone else have concerns about the time line??? since I only see one entry verified flowering.:dunno:

what are your concerns? i thought enough time was provided, IF you got going in the first few weeks after the thread was posted.

i consider myselff well "behind the pack", and still think i have plenty of time to finish by may 28th, the official end.

may 18th is nearly 14 weeks away still, imo that's time too root a clone, put it in a yogi and flower it out still.... just barely enough time, but still....

let's hear what peeps have to say, im all ears.

BTW, good looking plants, trichrider.

I may be a bit late too, but that is because I had other priorities when I should have started the seeds for the contest, so I started with a 3 weeks delay. My 100% sativa landrace swazi rooibaard takes 13 weeks to flower, and I also did not take into account that they need to be harvested AND DRIED by May 28. They might still finish in time, but not by much. Already put them into flowering a week ago, no preflowers yet.

But I agree, it was more than enaugh time for those that started in time.

just my two cents, but i think anybody who started this game should get to finish it.

it would be a shame to have to harvest early and it would be unfair for anyone who put the effort in for a few months to be disqualified because they couldn't/wouldn't take any shortcuts to save a few days.

i liked it better when this was a "challenge" instead of a "contest" TBH. i smoke a lot of pot so i know reality can be kinda strange but i never thought that reality would be so bizarre that anybody would be busting anyone's balls about what goes on in a yogurt cup

this is Avi's baby so i'll STFU now

I have my yogis going but I disqualified myself because I haven't even posted a single pic. The seedlings are doing amazing in the yogis amended coco with foxfarm dry organic nutrients.

I was having issues getting clones to root since moving into this house so that was my big holdup. I wanted to enter the forum cut gsc as one of my yogis but I almost lost the strain because I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get things to root in my cloner. I even bought a new cloner thinking my old one had a bacteria in it. It all came down to my bucket cloners water temps were way to cold I stuck a heating pad under it and bam back on track with cloning again.

Got a couple forums or 1 forum in my cloner right now so once it roots I'll drop it into my yogi cup and flower her out just for fun. My seedlings I have going are doing awesome the line-up is 2 humboldt seeds trainwreck, CBD seeds CBD critical mass, and jaws gear dark matter.

I know I am obviously not entered into the competition because I haven't posted any pics or updates so i am at this point just growing them for fun. They are all in coco amended with organic foxfarm dry nutrients.

UPDATE 03

UPDATE 03

Older updates:
U00 here
U01 here
U02 here

Not much has happened since last update. I have topped the bigger 2 plants after 3 nodes, and they were a bit overfed so they had 2 waterings with just water. They have almost 1 week since I changed the lighting schedule to 12/12. We'll see how this goes. Next watering will be 50% nute strenght.

LMAO ...... when you lose all concept of time you're doing something right trich.

what strain did this to you?

LMFAO

mikenite - "self-disqualified" or not, eventually show us what u r working with.

like i said originally, this isn't about winning to me, or about rules or deadlines or guidelines, it's about sharing and having fun, doing this crazy shit we do, and doing it all together.

Let's operate on the SPIRIT of the challenge rather than solely on the LETTER of it. Yes, rules are rules, but lets enjoy the ride, and to hell with the deadline, grow your yogi cups the best you can however you want! YES the deadline is still in effect, (we have to vote on a winner at SOME pre-determined time), but do what you feel is best for your plants, and please continue to post updates (smoke reports!) even after the deadline, this thread will remain open.

damnit wald, that's fucking great looking, kudos

:yeahthats nice looking girls Wald! from the looks of things your pump station is doing exactly what you designed it to do. doesn't look like they mind the extra watts either:woohoo:

here is the last pic of mine in veg. i'll be moving them into flower when the sun goes down for the day

34 days

i tried to get some pics of where they are getting moved to tomorrow but i don't know how to make a camera work in there with the lights on so that will be happening before they come on again in the "morning".

That's exacly what I was thinking when I saw their monster plants.. :)
Maybe I'll upgrade to 400w once I see the buds forming. But that seems a lot for 4 cups with a total of under 1L of growing media.. at least to me. When I see you guys with your 1000W, "crazy" sometimes comes to my mind, :muahaha:!

Last year i had a cut in a other yoghi battle... same strain. Think it would be nice to show the progress to impress a lil' bit too, it was in summer at my window. :)

why only sometimes?

i agree that throwing that much light at a yogurt cup IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING LOONY! but it seems to be working so for now i'm gonna put on the straight jacket and embrace that shit

TBH before i started doing the beer/yogurt cup grows i never thought that plants this big would work in cups this small. i listened to the bigger pot = bigger plant theories and everything i saw and did supported them so i didn't think about it to much. then some crazy stoner with a strange idea started a thread and now i'm not sure what to think :tiphat:

i don't think growing in yogurt cups is ever really going to have any practical applications in any situation, but it's fun to push the limits and be surprised by the results. i know if someone would have started a thread 3 years ago saying they could get a couple ounces off 6 ounces of grow media i wouldn't have believed them.

never say never

just got finished moving the the entire circus to the flower room ........

i had some old screens that the WOW method inspired (thanks Marlo!) that got revamped to hold yogurt cups and hung from the ceiling. the mousetrap ...... new and improved

i traded the old screens in on sections of tomato cage that i hang from the ceiling but they aren't stable enough for what i'm doing. what i had to do was cap the legs and make a hook, drill some holes so i'll be able to add some bamboo stakes later and hang them up

put these things together to hold the cups and secure the drip lines

and the ladies are spending their first night in their new home

both the night and day systems are plumbed and running, and i guess i'll see what happens from here

question for everybody ......... if i got them too big in veg for the yogurt cup to sustain them through flower, what do you think is going to happen? and why? will the growth just be stunted at some point or do you think they will hit a wall and be dead overnight/day?
