thats rightill have to spend alot more time around home this year because my wife just gave birth to my first son, first kid... ill have my usual outdoor spot but will be doing alot less this year and will have to hire some people to chaarge the hill. so i can spend time with my son. (im half tempted to bring him out to the hill, lol, but that would be a fiasco). so im going to be setting up a greenhouse here at home about 15' x 20'. i live in a fairly secluded area but do have kids that play at the top of my drive way and occasionally kick or throw their ball or whatever their playing with, over the gate and fence and they sneak in to get it back. i dont want them sneaking in and stealing my herb or telling anyone. its completly legal but i dont want to get ripped. . i live a good ways down the drive way and ill be planting out back and in the side yard. im gonna have plants in the open in the back... i know my yield will be lower but it will be alot easier than spending weeks out on the hill leaving my wife alone to deal with the baby, i personally dont want to miss the boy growing up, happens so fast.. so ill keep you posted, im prepping my spots now and will be building the green house asap (simple hoop design i think is how ill go. i know how to build the greenhouse but have never grown here this close to the coast so im worried about not getting enough sun. if this summer is anything like last summer ill be fine but if its rainy and humid... no bueno. ill post some pics of the green house once its up and keep everyone posted on how its going. not sure what strain ill go for yet, probably mix it up with some lemon larry og, sour diesel or loompa's headband', gsc, pure kush, deep sleep (ogx bubba)or bubba and some durban poison and a special haze cross that flowers in 70 days. wish me luck!

haha... sounds like the "greenhouse" i'm in the process of finishing setting up for my "backyard" grow this year.

i've got plenty of other coals in the fire to keep me more than busy, but i decided to do this after getting into a heated discussion with a local friend about wether or not our county's new proposed ordinance of 50-150 sq ft gardens was actually fair or not.

i took the part of devil's advocate and proposed that while i wish the ordinance would vanish and go back where it came from, it does leave plenty of space to produce a constant and plentiful supply of ganja IF you take every advantage possible and think outside the box. our ordinance disallows "collective gardening" or any co-op or collective really, which is completely ridiculous and totally unfair, but not the point of this "experiment".

i contend that with a separate area for staging clones and pre-vegging, and then on to the 100 sq ft "hoop house" where they could be light dep'd in the summer months and provided with supp lighting and heat during winter months... THAT weather permitting here in the valley it's not unreasonable to think you could feasibly pull off 4-6 harvests a season of 4+ pounds per pull.

At least that's what I think COULD be possible based on other light deps i've ran in much larger and roomier environs... i've currently got (40) 15-gallon smart pots wedged assholes to elbows inside the 10x10 footprint... i'm still waiting another week before i bring the clones i just put in 2 gallon bags last week outside for transplant... i'm on the fence about wether or not to cram them all in and then lollypop them all after stretch to help with being packed OR taking out a few bags and possibly vegging them an extra week...

anyway, that's enough about mine. your post just reminded me of my efforts when i saw it and thought i'd tag along. i'll be watching to see what you do for your backyard "hoopty"! it should be a fun experiment for me and i hope it yields great medicine for you and your efforts!
