What is the amperage and voltage of the circuit that the wall outlets are on? Also is there anything else plugged in on that circuit?

If you're in North America, then you've probably got a 15a/120v or 20a/120v feed...which would be overloaded by 2 1k's since most breakers trip at about 80% of their rated capacity.

Ok...if nothing else is on that circuit, then it will be fine to run 2 1k's (@240~250). They will each draw about 5 amps @ 240~250.

My guess is that the circuit you want to use will probably be used for half of the house outlets if not all of them, so you'll want to look in the breaker/fuse box and see if there are other circuits available for the rest of the house.

If you have additional circuits available for the rest of the house, then you are fine with what you have....if not, then you will need to add another circuit for that room.

I was always told 1000 watters use around 9 amps. Therefore use a separate 15 amp for each one but maybe I was told wrong.

oops maybe its different though with 240-250 volt sorry!

Yup...watts = volts x amps. So he'll actually be pulling 4.16a with 240v and 4.00a with 250v - this assumes that there is no loss in the ballast which of course there is.

With normal core and coil ballasts there is typically a 10-15% loss, so the "Real world" amperage draw will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 4.4a-4.8a depending on the efficiency of the ballast and whether running 240 or 250v. This can be lowered somewhat by using digi ballasts, but not enough to notice a difference on the light bill unless you're running 20K plus.

I'm still waiting for these super duper digi's than can run 4 or more lights off 1 ballast by splitting the Hz between the bulbs. That's gonna totally screw LEO trying to use power bills for searches :D

By looking at the number of breakers/fuses in the main panel of the home. You need to check this before proceeding any further...

BTW, you're using 220v/50hz if you're in China...I have a feeling that you were reading the rating of an outlet and not the actual feed with that 15a/240~250 statement from earlier. Do NOT take anything for granted when working with electricity.
