200 gal Smarties...simple yet critical question.

Big shout to all the outdoor rulers who have not only entertained for ages but passed along tons of great information. After a strong 5 year push refining my indoor lab....stay tuned for the ribbon cutting ceremony and first grow in my completely overhauled and redesigned dream room!!! ;).

Anyway, all these monster trees have me jealous and so this year I decided to throw a few trees into the backyard. I am using three x 200 gallon smart pots and a few ladies started from seed back in Feb. strains are holy grail Kush, Original Sour Deez from reserva privada, and finally a strain called "grape drink" which the homies are just raving about, this one is from clone.

My question......will there be a notable difference between placing one of these giant smart pots on grass, vs another which may be placed on a brick surface laid out in the back yard? I am only concerned that any vertical root penetration is going to be severely limited in that one plant, not that the 200 gallons of space elsewhere will be insufficient!

I'm considering starting a simple thread to follow the progress of these gals, any suggestions? Thanks

I can throw pics up soon

I started a grow in a bed but i put it against a fence which ended up in the shade. This stressed out my plants.
Don't want to waste the rest of this year and wait till next spring, so i picked up 150 smart pot.
I was able to come up with enough leftovers from the bed (no till, plan to use next spring) to fill the pot.
I know its late in an attempt to succeed with something I threw a few more beans and re-potted the survivor seedlings..

My first grow is a work in progress, following my intuition here. There's a cheap organic chicken manure that I'm going to feed with other than a little bit of humus and ewc( bout half gal. together) that was thrown in to amend the soil.

I Know.. Go big or go home, but its hard to go out and spend a whole bunch more things when the garden hasn't put out. So I'm just winging it.

For sure, I'm going to learn something important about cannabis this year. Any constructive criticism is welcome.

Btw the sun has an equinox. I mean it's always about east to west, but twice a year it moves north for summer and vice versa in the northern hemisphere. opposite for southern hemi.

I didnt plan the north/south part and ended up with seedlings on the wrong side of the fence.

also any nearby trees or buildings on the east to west path of the sun will cause shade and a shorter light schedule.

A penny for thoughts. my $.02
