never used light movers, but a buddy told me i could throw 15 lights instead of 20 on light movers and get the same or close to same result, wondering if anyone has tried light movers themselves.I hear mixed reviews about them

I've been using Light Rail 3.5's 15 years. I like them but maybe they are better for smaller grows with less 1,000's than you. I used them in 2,000 watt rooms. If you use them make sure to get the extra wheels and other pieces because they need to be replaced. If your reflector is heavy, the pieces will need to be replaced more often. My original motors are still working after 15 years on all of my light rails. I used to use them on 4'x6' Ebb & Flow trays and I was using 1,000 watt per tray. I had great results with no VEG time at all. For a grow of your size, I wouldn't even consider using a light rail.

Light rails always struck me as a nifty way to maximize a limitation in amperage load capacity. I'd rather yeild more #s as opposed to more "gpw"

I've rarely seen the Lightrails motors burn out, besides its not like you gonna go the whole crop with out noticing that it stopped running. From running one a few times I noticed the area off best coverage is 3x7' but I've seen others use them in 4x8 areas.

If you veg for long they'd be perfect for vegging by removing 1/2 of the lights.

I like light rails when trying to maximize production from an electrical limitation, and my plants always did as good or better than stationary lights. but at that scale and with one of the main factors in the gavitas being so great is the spread and overlap of spread I don't know that I would have them moving...I would think 15 lights on movers would perform better than 15 stationary lights but not as good as 20 stationary lights and you have more to maintain/break and depending on layout of the space may make things considerably less accessible.
