2 weeks away from first havest

Hey guys im about 2 weeks away from my 8 week flowering period and i was wondering what steps i should be taking leading up to the harvest. I have already flushed my soil with tap water and i'm currently waiting to recieve my magnifying glass i ordered offline to check the trichs but i've heard diffrerent things like leave dark for 24 hours before u cut the plant and little things like that so that advise would be amazing guys.

Continue flushing with ph'd water until the end, trichomes should be 10% amber or more and rest cloudy. Leaves should visibly be yellowing and plant will look "autumn-like". Too much debate on darkness period, is up to you, chop some, 1 with 24hrs, 1 with 48.

So they've been on 12/12 for 6 weeks? If so I'd say feed them for one more week, then flush for about 10 days or so. You'll end up with a much better smoke

I only flush the last three days, lots of versions, but doing what you are comfortable with is most important. Potassium is used all the way until the end, nitrogen inhibits buds, etc. etc. etc, these are minor events in the plant's life, it all smokes.

I take about 4 to 5 days to trim and I put the plant in a full dark room once the cutting begins. Have not noticed a smoke change, but the plant trims easier being kept in the dark, the leaves seem a little stiffer and pop off without sticking as much.

Maturity is a personal choice based on experience with the plant and grower's preference. I harvest my sativa early, first cloud, for the light high, kills the yield but I like it that way.

I grew one plant special for a client, 4 weeks longer than normal. "Thank you", he said when he got off the floor. Too sedative for my taste.

I honestly doubt that you'll chop exactly on the day you expect. Have your magnifing glass ready. Be looking for 3 things;
1) Slower water consumption
2) Less white pistils, and more orange/dead pistils
3) Trichomes change color. Start looking Now so you can see the CLEAR transition to Cloudy... Amber is obvious.

Feed for one more week, then just feed water for the last half of week 7 and up untill harvest. Dont get stuck on "8 weeks" really watch the plants and see how they change in the last weeks of flowering. You;ll see that they LOOK more ripe as you let them go into the 9th week (strain and pheno dependent... what are you growing?)

Screw the dark period at the end, but if you need to do it for a day untill you can get around to harvest, it doesnt hurt.

you need a mini microscope i think there 12 or maybe 17 bucks at radio shack to really see a magnifying glass prob wont cut it the other does like 60-100 magnification.depends on the high ya want just remember this the more amber the more couch lock feeling, cloudy the more uppity high as far as the flushing goes id say two weeks if your in dirt. they also make products like clearx that will flush the hell out of your plants faster than just water .although ya still need to flush with just water also if ya use those products.it can cut a week off your flush. as far as light out 24 to 48 hours prior i say why the hell not if ya can remember too do it wont hurt anything lol(i forget half the time).
