2 week old plant with leaf issue

This plant continues to concern me! That same bad leaf is very dry and looks nearly dead. Its about 2 weeks old.

It has just started on this leaf as well. Overall, the rest of the plant looks healthy?!?! It appears isolated to this plant only.

Heres a different plant in the same system, even same strain without any issues.

Im using FNB 1/3 strength, FLB 1/4 strength and Liquid Karma 1/3 strength. ppms at 300 and pH stays 5.7 to 5.9. Res temp 72, room temp 75, top of plant temp is 80.

I'd just cut that or those single leaves off and see if it continues. If the rest of the plant's healthy your problem's solved

Well, whatever it is, it is officially spreading through the plant! I now have 4 leaves showing this! What the hell is it? It starts at the tip of the leaf and works its way across the leaf to the stem.

No other plants show this problem.

Can it be some weak pheno genetic thing? I think ph is a little low but dunno. Weird since it's only that single plant if everybody gets same treatment. Good luck with it though. Hope it's not something that spreads to other plants too?

Thanks for your thoughts. Im definitely starting to think its something with this one plant, either genetic or disease (or combination of the two since they can be related) and Im already popping a seed to replace it quickly if it doesnt improve. Very strange behavior. The plant has been moved to different holes in the aero but keeps deteriorating no matter where I put it. I think its just a bad plant thats doomed.

Hi mace. You think underfeeding? Its not even the biggest plant in the system?? Ive got them up to nearly 600ppm (FNB/FLB/LK/Diamond Nectar) so I guess another day or two to see if it improves. If it continues downhill, its getting pulled.

Hi ItsGrowTime,

what you see is assimilation, the plant removes ressources from the leafes.
Pink petiole (leaf stem), spotting on the lowest leafes that looks like an Mg def.
I'd say i'ts hungry, assumed that the pH is right and you haven't fiddled with too much pH down.
Check the other plants for shiney spots on the leafes, usually whey'll turn brown by tomorrow.
I'd just use the FNB at 4-5ml per US gallon for 2 days, if everything goes fine then switch to 5-6ml, and soon after that to 8ml.

Seeds are all different, grow at dif speeds, clones are best for hydro/aero systems.

Your TDS ppm numbers don't mean anything if you don't give us the conversion factor. Better yet, stick to EC/CF, it ain't ambiguous.

5ml FNB per US gallon of RO water are either:
0.9 mS/cm or 900uS/cm in EC
or
450ppm TDS @.5 conversion
or
630ppm TDS @.7 conversion

Depending of the conversion factor, TDS ppm can vary for 40% ;)

stop using the dechlorinator!

i'd really go KISS, only FNB and maybe hydroguard, as for the rest... back in the shelf, later in bloom all i'd use additionally would be the Floralicious Bloom

less additives is often more

Whats wrong with dechlorinator? Same stuff used in fish tanks...

EDIT: no offense but in hydro you need Hygrozyme and Hydroguard to prevent root rot, so really the only nutes are the FNB/FLB/LK/DN. Are you a hydro grower?

I think the dude is right, the colour of that plants is good. The plant just might have higher feeding needs..

in case you didn't note, a hydro system (with bottled nutes) is not the same as an aquarium :D
to get rid of chlorine, all you'd had to do was to leave the water out for a night

DIT: no offense but in hydro you need Hygrozyme and Hydroguard to prevent root rot, so really the only nutes are the FNB/FLB/LK/DN.
BLAAA

when is started growing, the guys at the hydro store used to recommended a lots of stuff and i thought i could compensate for heat with lots of snake oils.. doesn't work!

additives will not replace a good environment

you don't need anything except a good environment and enough nutes to satisfy the plant needs

cool res temps are the key to enough DO, hydroguard is NOT NEEDED to grow in hydro, same thing with hygrozyme
they may have benefitical effects, but they will not replace a good environment!

Are you a hydro grower?
used to be until long ago, soon will be again :)

Hi mace! Thanks for your reply. I didnt mean to imply or insult, rather that sometimes people tend to get hydro and soil mixed up on these infirmary threads and that can make a big difference. Ive read (and been recommended) good things on Hygrozyme and Hydroguard so I do fully intend to stick with them. Anyway, Im thinking that one plant is just screwed so its getting pulled and transplanted into a two plant system to see if it recovers. If not, at least it wont slow or affect the rest of the grow. Heres a pic taken tonite of the newest affected leaf. It seems systemic....

EDIT: wanted to add that this is a new grow room so Im tweaking for great environment but its taking time so any additives that can help my crop not croak while Im dialing it in are very useful ;)

Have you thought of switching to veg formula ? just a thought .I know bloom formulas work well on seedling but I would think there ready for extra N most veg nutes offer
mace has a good piont PH down used in excess will cause spotting also

I dont know what "excess" phDown is? I do use it a bit to bring a 6.5 down to 5.7 sometimes? I guess it really depends on what excess means. My tap water is pretty good and using buffered nutes doesnt mean much pHDown overall IMHO. A splash here and there is all....

WHoOOOooOOOoo - you say Diamond Nectar is cheap? Where do you buy, because i just ordered 1l of it at 40$ and i can see, that im not gonna be able to fill the res many times before getting new bottle if i find it well worth the money

Hi Mibri!
I got the quart bottle for $13 at my local hydro store. I guess not "cheap" but since I bought the Hygrozyme at the same time ($36 for same size bottle!) the DN just seemed pretty cheap lol. My local store does do online orders so if you like that price I can give you the link.
