2-way vs 4-way symmetry?

I was just putting a few plants under the magnifying glass to look for preflowers when I noticed something.

One of the plants, about three weeks old, is different than all the others at the top two nodes. Instead of growing two fan leaves from the main stem, there are four from a single point. So... is that a thing they just do or what?

Nothing to worry about, seems some strains just like to do that on occasion. On the plus side, mutant genes can lead to some legendary pot. :D

Vesuvius

im a new grower also and have been watching my first plant intensely.
was a little concerned when i was getting 2 sidebranches coming out 1 side of main stem every other node.
but a friend said well that just means more clones and or budsites for that plant!!
enjoy your grow and good luck with your plants!!

The amount of blades on the leaf increases as the plant grows until you get to usually 9 or 11 blade leaves.
(i have a document on this somewhere if you want it).

LUCK.

Yes I think it's 'quad-foliate' and the node above 'tri-foliate'

I've had a bit of this as well on my Blue Mystics. I took the branches as clones under the hope I could some day breed the genetics. More nodes just sounds like it makes more sense.
