Well me and a buddy are looking to install a new mini split A/C in our 6k room. We already have a portable A/C, but we wanna loose the fan's and the ducting and go bare bulbs!!!! Maybe some light rails:muahaha:Not really sure about the light movers, but there still a chance.

I was really wondering what people around here think of it??? Is it easy to install? Are there better ones on the market?

It already comes pre charged with it so that will not be a problem...

It says to get the warranty somebody for havoc will have to install it..Im pretty sure we can get it, The instructions did not seem that diffucult.

We just wanna go bare bulbs, Way to increase lumens and yield.

i got a homey who just had one of these put in. the mitsubishi model if i remember...
he screwed up a connection and it wasn;t working so he had to have a guy come out and repair it... wasn;t oo bad btu now the thing is working pretty well.

that said, a dude at the shop i was in this afternoon mentioned he has a couple of ops with the same style a/cs and he said after about the 3rd/4th crop there is a mold build up of some sort that you can see come out the vent when the unit kicks on. i am not sure of his word as i haven't seen him there before but dude was placing a big order and had a nice stack of bills i don't think he'd really be lying for any particular reason.

any one else heard of the mold issue?

it states that it comes pre charge. you still need to vacuum the lines when its installed. do you know how to do this by your self? if so can you share cuz i would like to know. the unit you posted and more cooling than mine and is cheaper. i just dont know how to vacuum.

I just installed a 9kbtu mini split with inverter. The one in your link is a good one because of the compressor (Sanyo). Mine is also a Sanyo compressor. Sanyo, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, all good compressors in the mini split world.
Like you stated, it does come pre charged but you need to vacuum the lines once hooked up. I paid an ac tech 100 cash and it took him 10 minutes.
I don't know about the mold thing cause I've yet to do a full grow but their is a filter on the inside unit and I clean it once a week. Never heard of others having that kinda problem.
You will love the mini split, trust me. I always tell guys to get one if they got the $$$ cause it's as if they were designed for growers ;)

Bare bulbs lose a lot of light because a good bit of it goes striaght up, presumabl;y where you will have no foliage. Well designed hoods are MUCH more efficient at lighting your garden than bare bulbs.

I bet he would be running those light vertically if he was going bare bulb. I dont see any advantage really of running bare light horizontally.

Let us know what you had planned as I would like to know as well.

well im tryin to find away around this since i cant have some guy walk into my room and see whats going on. looks like im going to have to spend the extra bucks for the unit that is already charge and i dont need a hvac tech out here seeing what i got going on. if you find a way let me know
