2 problems/questions

I previously had posted about an early budding plant, and have more questions regarding the same subject. It is my goal to get pictures up here sometime to make helping me easier, however I do lack that luxury at the moment. So I have 1 plant that has started to bud under 16/8 lighting, and they just keep on gettin bigger. I have been trying to hold off on flowering it in hopes i could get a clone from it before. Is it possible to clone after or during the flowering period?
As well with the same plant I applied Neem oil and it seemed to severely damage the plant, causing the loss of 4-6 leaves. I have noticed that with this loss came new leaf growth closer to the main stem from where the buds are growing. Could this leaf loss somehow be natural or was it me being a noob and spraying my baby with something I know nothing about? lol
any and all tips are appreciated, thank you.

Yes you can clone whilst in flower, just remember it will need time to revert to veg' growth, the longer it is in flower = the longer needed to revert.
If you have new shoots growing after your mis-hap then i wouldn't worry about it now, I couldn't say what caused the loss of leaf?

Yes, you can take clones of of a flowering plant, it's not as easy but it can be done. You can also re-veg a plant after it has been harvested. Just don't cut off all the budsites when you harvest - that is where the new growth will come from when you turn the lights back up to 24/0.

I have never heard of neem damaging plants but I have never used it either. Its hard to say what caused a few leaves to drop without seeing a pic. Were the leaves that fell of real yellow/pale?

if you want to avoid having your plants flower early, you should try a different light cycle. often times, people will put either seedlings or clones that have been under 24 hour flos or t5s into a room or tent under a reduced photoperiod (like 16/8) right away. this has a tendency to trigger flowering. next time, start your plants (if this was the case) under 18/6 and slowly, over the course of a week or so reduce the time to your desired increment.

those other guys are spot on with regards to revegging a plant. imo, however, i wouldnt do it. better to let it continue growing, and clone next time.

neem oil shouldnt harm your plants, as long as you use the proper ratio to water. did you use a wetting agent with it? i also wouldnt apply the oil when the lights are on, but i only use neem outside cause my indoor (knock on wood) hasnt had any pest problems. hope that helped a little.

Well sadly I did not even dilute the neem oil. I had suspicions I might need to, however on the container I could not find any mixing directions anywhere. Noob mistake on my part. And yes the leaves turned yellow/white and quickly crisped up and turned brown afterward.

And if it is viable I may just run a 24/0 cycle just to ensure the maximum influence for vegetative growth.

I do believe heat may have been a culprit in this as well. The area I have been using is not well ventilated at the moment and reaches close to 90 ferenheit in there. I am currently working on solving this by installing venting etc, hoping that helps.

I have had ALOT of problems, from pests to over watering/ over feeding. The flowering plant has survived all past attacks though and is looking strong. I'm thinking it would be a shame to not clone this bad boy lol, especially considering my lack of viable seeds. Any tips?

If the leaves that fell off were near the bottom of the plant that could mean nitrogen deficancy. What and when are you feeding them ?

A 24/0 veg cycle is great and in my experience the fastest.

And yes, "clone that bad boy". Take a look at a thread in the grower's forum called "Cloning with JJScorpio" or something like that.

Don't stress over your noob mistakes. Just think of it as "Experience in it's rawest of forms"...lol Your getting an education and you are gonna get at least some bud from the flowering plant. Even if clones don't root at first you will still get cloning experience. You can do this!! Start reading people's grow logs, its fun!

sounds like the light is too close. burnt krispy leaves and 90* temps mean you have the light baring down on your garden. what kind of light and how big? raise the light, and read some of the hand watering threads.
