2 fans cooling one hood

Not really. I have the same hood, and regardless of whether I am running the exhaust fan on low or high at the speed controller it is always about the same beneath the glass. A 6" inline fan is exchanging all the air in the reflector every 2-3 seconds. The problem tends to be more that the IR the bulb is generating is responsible at that point. No matter how much air you move the light radiation is just going to do what it does when it his the leafs.

Also, figure that reflector is about 28" large. If you smash it on top of the canopy then the bulb to the center of your garden is only 4-5" away. But at the edges, that bulb is more like 32" to the corner. So what you get is more light than the plants can use in one place, and not enough light in another.

Might sound crazy to some people, but there is a sweet spot for light systems where you get enough photons to the entire canopy for healthy and even growth. Somewhere around 20" or so from the top of the canopy.

I was of the same mind. Oversized reflector. Smash it down. I now have a BlockBuster sitting unused and taking up space, getting better results out of a simple econowing held further back because I don't lose that 5-10% of the energy to the glass and the dust that builds up on it.

Using insulated ducting and one of those thermal covers on the top of the shade would cut a few degrees and not add to the electric bill
