2" Anti-Syphon Valve

S

sneakyninja

I'm looking for either a 2" anti-syphon valve or a way to have the same anti-syphon effect on a res thats higher than the controller bucket (thus the need for the anti-syphon in the first place). I've searched pretty well and not managed to find anything so I thought I'd see if any of you guys knew where to get one.

Thanks,
SN

You might find what you need at the Home Depot, look in the area where the sump pumps are, they use a "check valve" that might work for your situation.
when the sump pump finishes pumping they can have 6-8 feet of water above them, well you dont that water to drain back into where it came from! the check valve only lets water move in one direction and blocks it from coming back. Is this something you can use? hope I helped. peace.

Just drill a hole in a plastic elbow.

Check out Krytos guide on building a multiflow bucket system and you will see where to drill the hole in the elbow.

Edit: here ya go

Although a check valve would be ideal, eligul is correct. A simple hole in the line above the water level works great.

Edit
(I use a 1/4" 90 elbow popped into my 1/2" feed lines as an anti-sciphon)

The hole in the elbow will work fine as long as the elbow is inside the reservoir since it will leak water when the pump is running.

If the highest point is out of the reservoir then use a "T" and run a vent line. So long as the vent line is higher than the max head of the pump, you will not have a problem.
