Hi Guys;

Just wondering would two 600 watt HPS lights be ok to use in a room 8Lx4Dx6H and would i be able to fit 15 plants in either 3 Gallon or 5 Gallon in that space?

Thanks.

That's what i was worried about, i could go with one 600 and one 400 if that would work? if i went with my second option, could i use a Adjust-A-Wing or would i be better off staying with an Air-Cooled Reflector? and also a friend of mine is giving me a 6" exhaust fan rated at 440CFM (If memory serves me right).

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not to sure to be honest but it wouldn';t be balanced i know that much.

Go with 5 gallon pots anyway, we have similar spaces i just got more head height
i'm also using adjustawings too as of 2 days ago and my extraction is 8" but only 25-50% full speed ever

Check out some SCROG grows they are great anyway and even better if your stuck for head height, What your growing and how long veg times?

Well just going on the dimensions that doesn't give you very many wpsf.

8*4=32 sf.
1200w/32=37.5 watts per square foot.

You want that number (in theory) at the very least close to 50wpsf. 65 is even better. Two 1000w would be be ideal for that space. Now with that being said that doesn't account for your ability to get rid of the heat they would cause. If you have to go with the 600s I would use a smaller area.

I've got a similar sized space with 2x600 in. Ended up having to use a 8" out and 6" in, but only run them at half power most of the time, except in the summer, which requires abit more.

I tried with smaller originally but they needed to be on full all the time and it got really noisey.

I tend to scrog 6 plants depending on the strain.

:yeahthats He is right on the money!
As for Watts per sq foot or gram per watt i aint really watching that just yet i'm on my 2nd grow so i'm just enjoying having a dabble and trying out different methods but one personal target for me is 2 sq metre's 1000 grams after that whatever

My way..

My way..

I run 3x 600W HpS in cooltubes and a 400W HpS for two plants in 75l bubblers. Original Haze. The growroom is approx 2.5x3.5metres and 2-2.20m high. 2 months into bloom its just a surreal fucking jungle :joint:
Tomorrow I will substitute the 400W with a 600W also with cooltube so there will be LIGHT. :smoweed:

2 x 600 in a 4 x 8 tent = 2 pounds plus. You throw the extra 600 in there even more, but is it worth the extra electricity? Depends on you I guess. With 1200 it can be done, but not as good as 2000. Once again just depends what you want to do. Go balls to the wall with 2 1000s or go 1800. The watts per square foot rule is boss if you want optimal yield but do you want optimal heat which needs to be optimally cooled? Wentthrough these thoughts in my head and went with 2 600s. Fine for my needs. Peace and smoke.

What have people yielded on average with this setup?

2lb+ for the 1200 is a decent yield but how about average?

Any suggestions on fan or air circulation thoughts.

I am running 2 600's in my 4x8 tent, but the actual grow space is only 5.5' X 4'. The hoods are air cooled with a 6" 435cfm inline fan. I am getting over about 55w per sq ft. that way and things are looking pretty good with the first run with this setup. If I had any more plants though I would add another 600 or go with 2 1000's.

Here is a shot of my light setup>
