So I'm wanting to upgrade my set up and I can't decide what would be a better option.
I grow in a 1×1 meter cabinet and currently use a 250w hps, boosted to 295w (I don't fill the whole space). The reflector is a 5" cool tube and the light spread sucks. So my options are; get another 250 in a cool tube and have them side by side parallel to each other. They would both be with dimmable ballasts and dropped to 195w each.
Or, a 400w, but then I can't afford a different reflector, so would be stuck with my 5" cool tube.
I want to be able to fill the space, as my harvests never seem to last till the next one. I'm leaning towards the 2×250 's, as I've already got the bulbs and the price looks nicer
But I didn't know if the penetration would be too weak from the 250 to reach the edges and corners? Any advice is welcome
