Hiya guys

I've set aside a closet.

attachment.php

L= 5ft W=2.6ft H=7.5ft

I'm doing a 4 x 5 gal bubble buckets using a 400w cmh lamp.
The vent size is 5 inch / 125mm

What would be a simple way to hang the hood extracter and carbon filter up high? At the moment there is nothing in there to attach them to.

The left hand wall is the outside wall i plan to intake directly from the outside. Is it Better to intake from outside?
Or would it be simpler to add intake to the door instead?

i have a 400 cmh and a hood, Is the the carbon filter extractor setup correct?
Is it ok to use one extracter through the hood to extract the room air too?

Thanks for your input guys

Dan

I used to run a home made cab. I made a seperate section for the fan/filter so there was only the light in the growing space. I used metal screw in hooks to hold chains that the light hung from.
You can see at the bottom of this pic there's strips of wood fixed to the MDF, the hooks screwed through the MDF into the strips of wood to make sure it was strong enough.

The filter section was behind the shelf.

I wouldn't draw in air straight from outside if it's cold. Room temp (20c) air did just fine with my 400w.

The carbon filter need to be at one end or the other, if it's like mine (i don't know any others)

Hope that helps.

U would be better served and the plants will gain from more fresh air....

U should have the same size intake and fan as U got for exhaust...

better air exchange... will be much better in the long-run
and help w/ temps.... when summer time comes back around.....

I'm doing a 4 x 5 gal bubble buckets WOW first run and you want to jump in to bbubble buckets?? they aren't imo for rookies. better off with four 3 gal coco pots

those buckets would be good on a 1000 watt light

using a 400w cmh lamp.

love the lamp nice choice
The vent size is 5 inch / 125mm very adequate

What would be a simple way to hang the hood extracter and carbon
filter up high?

I personally wouldn't bother hanging the filter to the ceiling instead run
filter/fan ---ducting --hood-- out of room, the filter/fan combo will be kinda heavy if you don't know where the studs are ,, if you do know where or how to locate the studs , then use screw in eye bolts and work with chains on the equipment ,
At the moment there is nothing in there to attach them to. right just the flat ceiling with studs running above them, mayby..

what I suggest is just hanging the hood , which shouldn't weigh that much,

how is the tricky part, if you don't know where the studs are or how to locate them .

.then use screw in type anchors, E-Z Ancor Twist-N-Lock if the ceiling is hollow , I have used them in ceilings with screw in eyebolts, I wouldn't go tugging to hard but they will hold a good amount

The left hand wall is the outside wall i plan to intake directly from the outside. Is it Better to intake from outside?

it depends what the ambient temp is outside, colder equals easier to cool grow

Or would it be simpler to add intake to the door instead? again it depends if the vent in the door is going to pull cooler air than is outside, also when using door/installing air/vents intakes for venting you have to watch out for light leaks messing your plants up,,

i have a 400 cmh and a hood, Is the the carbon filter extractor setup correct? filter--fan--hood-- extract
Is it ok to use one extracter through the hood to extract the room air too? sure many folks do that..

Thanks for your input guys

four bubble buckets is way to much for a 400 watt imo u would have to flip the plant at 15 inches max, those buckets function for big plants with big lights , your spot would be better with 3-4 plants no bigger than three gal, coco ,,,,,,if your not limited 9 plants in 1 gall coco would rock in there

If this is your first rodeo I would ditch the bubble buckets unless your going to have them on chillers. I am pulling air from outside even with the cold temps and the pants love it. Exhaust 2x/minute this will ensure you will never have a heat issue. Good luck bro and welcome to ICmag.
