I think it's a girl.

I think it's a girl.

Day 35 since seed, day 24 since under MH.

This is how my side branches look, not a main branch.

Is this looking like a lady to any pro's??

Id love to know the strain

Id love to know the strain

When dealing with bag seeds how many would really be from hermie or male plants? Most meds are from female plants so wouldnt most bag seeds as rare as they are be female?

I noticed my new top leaves get all curly when they first start. But as soon as they get to normal size they flatten out and look normal like any other leaf.

Is this a trait from a specific strain or is this some other thing I am not aware of as of yet.

It maybe just a little early to tell for sure, but she looks she's leaning towards being a female to me. One pic looks like there's a female preflower with a hair but it's hard to tell for sure. I'm not seeing and clusters of male preflowers, and with the teardrop preflower pods showing themselves, it's mostly likely leaning towards being female.

The lineage of bag seeds is unknown. You don't know how the seed was grown, what it's strain is or whether it is normal or feminised. It's highly unlikely that you would get bag seeds from hermies or males because neither produce saleable bud.

So here's some facts regarding the feminised/normal seeds ...

Normal seeds have a 50/50 ratio of males to females and a low likelihood of turning hermaphrodite. But, feminised seeds have a higher ratio of females to males. However, they have a higher likelihood of turning hermaphrodite.

And with that being said, you can also turn plants hermie by screwing with their light schedule (although there is some debate on the internet regarding light leaks). A good question is, how did the seeds end up in a bag of weed I bought?

Well, I would say that seeing that the strain is an Indica, the bud you bought probably came from a plant grown indoors. One trait of indica's is that they can naturally self seed late in flower. I read on one of Ed Rosenthal's blogs (I can't find the link), that if an indica self seeds you will have a feminised seed. That being said, because you really don't know the seed's story, it's all just a big guess...

So is there a proper etiquette to naming bag seeds? Or a way to get a DNA test on the strain perhaps? Maybe any seasoned veterans could take a few of my pictures and tell me the strains it could be?

Wow, So then if it does exist its really only a matter of years until its readily available id imagine. Similar to how you can get a DNA test done for your dog. But Im not sure how law enforcement could use that db for anything. Unless they are getting one of a kind strains, because so many millions grow strains, and have stockpiles of seeds. So really not sure how weed DNA would ever be usable in a court.
