So im plannin on building a chamber out of panda plastic and some type of framing. The dimensions are going to be somewhat like 20"x36"x58". This is going to be my flower chamber. I have read about Ceramic Metal Halide bulbs and it says their spectrum beats any other flowering light, and they also run cooler, is that safe to say? I want to go for a 250w CMH with my perpetual clone grow. I am open to suggestions for my mother box, i dont know what type of lighting i'd need for a mother/veg. I know CFL but not color temp etc etc. Fill me in fellas! thanks

Sleeping Dragon
cmh for mother (veg) and cmh for flower.. promotes best of both..
for a mom. id get a 100 or 150.. nothing crazy needed.. (depending on how many cuts u need per week)

i'ld use four of five 42 watt helical cfl's. as for color and spectrum i'ld use a mix of cool and warm and leave the full spectrum bulbs out. plant can't use yellow or green light anyway.

Well, being economical is priority number 2, while preventing fires is #1. Simba i know ur a big advocate of CMH's so tell me this. Isnt it true a CMH outperforms HPS in flowering? And isnt it also true that a normal metal halide outperforms CMH in vegetative?

In the mean time i want to keep 1 mother plant just to take cuttings, i dont think i need super output lights to keep a mother plant. For a flower chamber i like the idea of high performing CMH. Should i alter the dimensions of my tent to maximize the use of a 250CMH? (flower chambeR)

I was thinking CFL's for the mother plant. I know drbud uses two different CFL's so ill hafta re check that. Im open to other ideas with experience backin it :)
