I'll have to agree with w you Hank & Libby, I think I'm keeping them too wet. Of the 22, 9 have roots and 6 of them are from OG #3 and only 3 from OG #1. I'll be taking clones again this week from OG 1&3 and from Chen Sis and Sour Grape. I'm going to put 30-40 in plugs and 24 in the bubble cloner and see what happens.

Does anyone know what temp the water is suppose to be in a bubbler and how to keep it warm? Heating mat, aquarium heater?

Took 41 clones last night 10 OG #1, 10 OG #3, 10 Chem Sis & 11 Sour Grape. On the OG's I double cut some of the top shoots to lower their height in hopes of making them more bushy. Here's the ladies before...

Here's the ladies after.

Here's the 41 clones

OG #1

OG #3

Chen Dawg Sister

Sour Grape

I didn't use the bubble cloner yet, it's not finished being built. I think I'll experiment with it next week or so.

Socachi, i find that the less greenery,(to a limit) upstairs, the quicker the roots come IMO, not that your doing anything wrong.Think about it, chop a full 18" plant in 4, and see if you could get it to root? Maybe, but unlikely.

My cuttings are never more than 2" tall, and i get decent returns off them 95%.Try a few smaller cuts to experiment with, smaller cuts need less moisture as well, so less chance of drowning, that's how i see it anyway.......good luck.

Libby not quite sure what you mean in the first paragraph. I get the less greenery, leave only a couple leaf sets on top. But the chopping the plant, not sure where you're going.

Most of the cuts are only 3"-4" tall with an inch in the plug.

Hank the area they're in is usually in the mid to high 70's, sometimes 80. If I put a pad under them won't they cook from too much heat?

Socachi, forget what i first said, try doing 2" cuts, cut some leaves or greenery till you are happy, do different hair cuts, see which survive.

Iv' e messed about this yr and seen differences in sizes

My clones are now in soil, as i said, and nearly 4"

Your Temp is ok, don't let that bother you.

If you are no lower than the mid 70's you should be fine. A heating pad will only warm them a bit I believe it said 10 degree's above room temp. You should be fine. libby is giving you good advice on clones. I cut long ones down to no more than say 3 inches.

Installed a couple of computer fans in temp positions in the veg/clone area, got the idea from Shady in another forum. They seem to work OK but I need to redo the area at a later time. It isn't easy adding something after the construction is done. I'll take some pics tomorrow.

Still need to transplant the clones, they're getting alot of roots.

It's time to transplant the clones taken on 12/17/09.

1st clone transplanted

Looking crusty but she's got roots, let's see what happens.

Make a hole and insert the plug, she's got a good root system

Getting ready to get root bound

This one looks pretty. As you can see I put hydroton over the tops to help keep the dirt moist. Also put it in the bottom for better aeration.

This one not so good.

20 transplants and clones under an 8 bulb T-5, only 4 bulbs are on.

I moved the fan for better circulatoin.

So of the 22 clones I took on 12/17/09 all 22 took root. So I got the rooting part going now I need to get them looking better when it's time for transplant. Too many were crusty looking and the 2 I didn't transplant I'll probably toss.

This is a great improvement over the last and first time I cloned.

Eugene thanks for the props man, and for stopping in. I hope you stay along for the ride during veg and when we go into flower. Hope to have some bud porn in the near future.
