Took 11 cones off the 2 OG moms yesterday, they don't seem to be doing as well (wilted) as the last ones I took. I wonder if it has anything to do with the face that the last ones (22) were put under a dome with 10 other clones so there would have been 32 clones in the same area that 11 are in right now. Do you think the larger number would have created a better environment than a few?

hey Socachi. notice any rooting yet my friend? spraying the clones is great. spray them babys once a day when lift the the lid off. the other ones dont need a dome. but I would make sure they are sprayed a coulpe times a day to keep them humid. I'm rooting for you! lol pun intended.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa or if so inclined Festivus.

No roots yet, I sure hope soon. Even the ones that were taken around 12/03 aren't showing roots, WTF . I had re-cut them on 12/17 after tossing some that had died. Of all that were taken the first time 1 rooted. I gotta say this is frustrating.

I added some water to the 1st tray since it was dry. The heat under the dome is around 80. I'm using 4 of an 8 bulb T-5 for 216W over 10 SF, the short height is causing the heat build up. If I ever get 20 plants in a veg it'll go up to the full 8 or 432W. If only I could get these to root I'll be on my way to flowering something.

The plan was to be taking a harvest by the end of Jan, man how that has changed.

Socachi dont beat yourself over the head. It takes pactice my friend. dont worry u will get it. How close are you T-5's? You do not need them too close. Clones dont need much light first week or so.
I have never heard of anybody recutting a clone. sounds like to much strees for them to go thru.

I hope your not keeping the cuttings to wet. Remember they need little light. I push mine off to the side of my veg babies and don't worry about them.

Hank I think I may be keeping them too wet.

I having a heat buildup issue in the clone/veg area. It's 2x5x2 and sits above the mom area which is 2x5x4. Also I think I need a larger mom area. Any suggestions on fans for this area? I was thinking some 6" sq computer fans that pull around 72 cfm, maybe 4 or 6 of them. 2 over the lights in each area and 2 as exhaust.

I've read that you should wait till a plant is 2 mo old before taking clones, that way the plant is mature. Does this also count for plants that were clones, aren't they already the age of their mom? :1help:

Soc. the plants that comes from a clone is as old as the mother it came from. So the plants you have that came from a clone could be a few years old. I wish i could help out with the fan problem but im not used to working that that size of an area.

Happy New Year Mi Amigo!!!

I'm not a tiny area man myself, check our growroom design forum. I take clones whenever I need or have them on the plant. Some people will flower a clone to get a idea on the phenotype, high, ect. Hope this helps.

SB thanks so I can take clones from the Sour Grape & Chem Dawg Sis I have even though I got them as clones 1 1/2 mos ago. I think I'm going to take more clones from the 2 OG's I have too even though I just took cuttings from them 4 days ago. Before I just took some top cuttings, nothing in the middle or lower.

LOL, Hank I had to laugh at the "tiny area man" comment, nothing about you I just have a warped sense of humor and I thought it was funny. Thank though I'll check out the other forum.

Well a few of the clones I took on 12/17 are showing roots, which is an improvement over the first time I cloned and only 1 rooted out of 20. The ones from 12/27 still aren't showing any roots. But I need to get alot better than a few out of 20, I'd like to see at least a 90% success rate.

I've been thinking of trying a bubbler, I bought a 14"x14"x7" plastic container a pump and stone and some black spray paint to black out the sides. I thought I'd give that a try to see if I can increase my results.

Go for it Socachi. Ive built my own before. very simple very cheap. good results but i enjoy cloning in soil. less stress when i transplant. just dip your rooting gel and aadd a few drops of your b-vits in the water then bubble away. good luck

Here are the clones taken on 12/17, they're looking a bit crusty.

Roots showing on 6 of 22 so far. This ratio needs to get better.

Creating a bubble cloner, it's 14"x14"x7", using 1 1/2" neoprene pucks, need 2 more. Hoping this increases my ratio to at least 90% success rate.

I've never used a bubble cloner. I get over 90% with the rapid rooter your using. I bet you keep them to wet. Just a thought.

Sochaci, I also say your too wet. I planted my cuttings on the 19th of dec, 2 days after yours, mine have been in soil now for a week and and growing well, about 3-4 inches high, not all came through though. I have a few still a bit wet, and they seem to be gettin nowhere.:dunno:
