I was looking at the clones today and some seem to be coming around. I cut off the dead leaves so they won't keep sucking up life.
The heater kept the room warm for the night and we'll see if that helps in turning the plants around. I'm thinking of upping the ph from 6 - 6.3 since that's the ph I was given by a 20 yr grower when he gave me his nute formula.
The Sour Grape and the Chem Sis are doing well the SG is getting really bushy, so much different than the OG. The OG moms are getting new growth and starting to bush out some. They look like they're ready for more cloning. How long should I wait till I take clones again?

cool temps don't seem to be. hell I was of the impression it's a weed, maybe the old shit was but this hybrid stuff sure isn't. some have tried telling me it's over watering, on the seedling yes but on the others I don't think so. the seedling was wilting while the others were not, but yet they all have the same raised ridges between he veins.
I've been going thru my books and re-reading MJ Garden Saver. hopefully some of this info will stick so I can avert problems in the future. LOL who am I kidding I forget... what was I about to say?

Well the OG Raskal clones I was looking to get fell thru. The dispensary didn't have success cloning and he's not going to do any more clones. So I'm back to sq 1. WTF this is getting very frustrating.

It looks like I'm going to be taking some more clones soon. Need to get some lights for my clone/veg area, the other space is getting tight with the mom's. Before I clone again I'll take some pics of the moms and of the new clones.

I was suppose to get 12 OG Raskals (Fire OG) this week but they didn't turn out well and the dispensary is tossing them and not making any more. WTF. At least I got 1 from them, a little crusty but she's going to be transplanted tomorrow. Hopefully she'll grow well enough to mom.

I have a clone and veg area that is 2'W x 5'L x2'H and I'm trying to determine how much light I need. My goal is to fit 20-6" pots and a clone tray. I was thinking 3-4' T-5 strips for a total of 162w or maybe add a 2' strip at one end for the clones when they're in there alone. Is this over kill?

I figured out part of my problem with my RO and that is where to connect it and how to do it. It finally dawned on me that I have a washer, so I looked for a t fitting at the hardware but the didn't have what I needed in plumbing. Fortunately I ran into a sharp sales associate and he took me to lawn and garden and viola, washer one one side and RO connection on the other. Now I just need to figure out a way to drain the waste to the outside garden. Don't want to waste water.

Soc. good idea on the RO hook up let me know how you feed the out door plants when you figure it out.

I've got one on my outside facet works good. On your lite question, I use 4' t-5's for clone and veg and they work great. They will put out some heat. I use 4' long with 8 tubes for veg and new cuttings. New clones just cut will not need a lot of light, after all you just want them to grow roots right? So you maybe able to do without the tubes on the ends. $ foot long tubes just leaves you 6" at either end.
Hank I have a 8 bulb T-5 in the mom area, I was thinking on maybe a couple 2 bulb T-8's in the smaller area. I know a 8 bulb T-5 would be much better, just don't have the cash right now. Know of someone selling a used one for $150 but not certain on age of bulbs, dude says they're not that old but, well you know... And 8 new bulbs would cost around $100, but 2 T-8 fixtures would be abound $40 and 4 bulbs another $16. So $56 vs $150 maybe $250.
Right now I' really not sure, only going to veg till they're 8" tall anyways, than off to bloom they go.

This is my 2nd attempt at taking clones. These are the 2 OG moms I'll be using #1 & #3. As you can see #1 is about 6" taller. They're cuttings from Oaksterdam taken on 10/29/09
Here's my supplies.
I soaked the plugs in 1/2 gal RO and 50 ml of Hormex.
Plugs after soaking and squeezed out excess water.
As you can see the plugs have small holes for a tight fit.
Now I'm ready to take clones.
I'll take my first cut on Mom #1 here.
This is the cutting, Later I had taken off the lower leaf the pics don't show that.
I had also trimmed the leaves.

Here's mom #1 after cuttings were taken.
I did the same with Mom #3 here she is after cuttings were taken.
I took 22 clones from the 2 Mom's, you'll also see some clones from last time still in the tray. I had re-cut them and put them back under the dome. They're in top of shot.
So that's my story, if someone see's flaws in what I'm doing please let me know. It may appear that more cuts could of been taken but I maxed them both out, no more 4th nodes left. All cuts were taken between 3rd and 4th node. Thanks
