hola
im growing some speed queens from mandala on my sunny balcony. They are now 57 days old. I havent done any fertilizing or anything. just watering. About 10 days ago i managed to sex them.. females!!

A few days ago i noticed some lower leaves turning yellow. About a week ago i had a white fly attack but i quickly managed to get rid of them with some insecticide soap (potasic).

Ive looked at some of the troubleshooting articles for sick plants on this forum and it looks like they are suffering from nitrogen deficiency? am i right or wrong??
I think i should remove the sick leaves no?

heres the pics:

Looks like nitrogen deficiency to me too. Add some ferts! Pull the solid yellow leaves off. You might want to repot to a larger size.

Definately transplant to at least a 3 gallon pot and start a good nute regimen, the bigger the pot the better root system you will develop and a good root system sustains health and vigor, your plant will love you for this and reward you the way you intend to be rewarded!!
happy gardening!! :jump:

Hey Rayco
remember when you start nutes, start at 1/4 strength and adjust as your plants need, you will know what they want after you get used to what they need, watch them and see what they are doing, if the leaves are standing up taking in all the light the are pretty happy, if the leaves are curling down and looking unhealthy they might be getting too much food or too much water, you should get a few reference books to read, HT mag has some good reading, search in here you can find so much info here you can't take it all in!!

If you want a good book to learn basically everything about growing weed i would pick up "The Cannabis Grow Bible" i will swear by that book.

thanks for the advice. im gonna try and find some 20+ liter pots. Does anyone have any advice on transplanting to another pot?
also the only fertiliser i can find here is from compo (universal). i was wondering if that is any good...

When you get your plant out of the pot, fluff the roots, if they have grown around the pot try to unwind them, fill the new pot about 1/3 to 1/2 with new potting mix and tamp it down, moisten the soil put your plant in and fill up with soil, now water very well and see how it reacts to it's new home, don't fertilize for a week or so unless your plant is telling you it needs food, the potting mix should have enough nutes to sustain it for that period..
Good luck!!

ok sounds good. my next question is what is the success rate for transplanting? i´d imagine that these plants undergo certain stress when repotting and mine are a bit weak at the moment..

nevermind i already done it last night. Its surprising how many roots these plants sprout. The whole bottom of the pot was a thick, white tangle of roots. It resulted being quite messy transplanting.. :joint:

They do grow a root system that is outrageous, This is why you need a big pot, the roots need room to spread out, yes it does stress them to get transplanted but they spring right back !! I have never lost one from transplanting, I do just as I told you and after the planting I mist the plant real good to give it some immediate moisture, usually by the next day it;s standing tall and grabbing all the light it can :jump:
