Hello friendly folks!! Here is my first grow, i will hopefully document all important aspects of this grow to test my knowledge and see where i make mistakes...also i did this to have any of you that might be able to lend some knowledge.

Well I had 6 seeds cracked and sprouted, 4 Casey Jones and 2 kali Mist.Well one Kali didnt make it and the other Casey J never sprouted so im down to 3 casey and 1 Kali. i sprouted 4 more casey's to increase my success rate of female... Theyre under 2 24w CFL's, temps are at 74F, and im using FFOF soil, and heres the progression to day 4! Feedback is a plus also! Thanks guys.

Looking good :D Nice healthy seedlings. Did you poke drainage holes in those cups? Good luck

Oh,and get a small fan blowin' and you won't need to prop 'em up.
Also, mine seem to be happiest a bit on the drier side of moist.

How far are your lights away from your seedlings? For your fluros they can be up to about 3 Inches away from the tops of the seedlings. If they're not about there already drop em down, or put your cups on some dvds to boost they're height - might help with the stretching

I really like that little stake you've got holding up the seedling in the last photo. Dunno why, it just looks really delicate :D

Wow seedlings in Fox Farm straight up. Some strains hate it, some love it. you got it made. Best of luck. What are you going to transplant into?

well i dont think itll give em too much shock to transplant into a 1gal of moonshine mix, or 1/3 ffof, 1/3 Light Warrior, and 1/3 FF Planting Soil...hopefully they like it!! its only day 5 and these lil babies are rockin! pics soon

Nice to see someone else running the lovely Casey Jones, she's definately a keeper! We found she yields best after a top and a good solid week of veg before the turn seeing as she doesnt stretch very much during the flower. YMMV

One may suggest computer fans blowing as hard as they can onto your stems so that they may form stronger stalks and support lots of weight

Alright i kicked the fans up a bit...but i had a question, im currently running them about 24/0 well except for about 3-4 hrs in the morning, i heard that a longer light schedule increases odds for males? any ideas on that? thanks :joint:

Day 7

Day 7

Ok so here they are on their 1 week birthday!! And they are real big and getting tall! Just watered em last night, and maintaining on a 20/4 hr light schedule for another 2 weeks then veg em under the 400w on a 18/6 light cycle...

Question: Will it affect the plants by changing their light cycle in 2 weeks or should i do it now? need some advice!! thanks!

do it now, changin from 4 hours of dark to 6 wont affect the plants at all. but yeah 18/6 is the best.

Lots of people say and do different things. I am running 20/4 at the moment. I've seen people run 24/0 for a week then reduce it by 2 hours each week, 22/2, 20/4, 18/6, 16/8, 14/10 and finally 12/12.

What you've decided on above would be fine, it's still debatable which is best.

I think those Casey are (Casey x Mustang Mist) if you got them from shmoe. The female casey was a especially dense, hashy pheno. Look forward to see the Kali bx1 as well. Slips

I had a question though...would it be okay to put them under the 400w HPS now? and if so how far away should they be without burning them? thanks for any responses!

It wouldn't be a problem to put them under the 400W now if you've got good ventilation (my last run was under a 600w from seed, 400w before that) - I'd say at least 12"-18" away, you should be able to hold your hand at the same level for a few minutes without it feeling too hot. Watch for curling leaf corners/edges and white bleaching as signs of heat stress, keep the humidity up too and you should be fine.

They're looking good so far man :) Nice healthy green colour

 Thanks Sammet....youve been the most help thus far...i put em under the 400 so hopefully they should take off as i cant let them veg too long due to vertical height issues.
