I have only, grown once; in MG soil, under T5 HO Fluorescent light. I have no idea of the strain, I guess folks refer to that as 'bag seed' (my guess was a Sativa), it was about 3.5 ft tall after it had flowered for 9 to 10 weeks; I spotted very, few amber trichomes.
I withheld the Advanced Nutrients about 4 weeks before harvest. I let the soil dry before I harvested half, 1 week apart, manicured and hung buds in a 12 x 14 x 20 in cardboard box, (on strings, strung across inside of box), perforated with 1/8 in holes, (about 1 in apart), on all sides, and a 6 x 6 in, 12 volt, cooling fan mounted on the top, in the center of the box.
Trim and bud leaf was laid on screen covered grates, across the strings, below the buds. these small, (average about an inch long, about 1/4 in wide; very, sticky), buds dried in less than a week; I am afraid that I should have not run the fan and just, let the material dry in the box on its own. The plant began to turn purple from the leaf tips, and the purple color on the stems and stalk deepened before harvest time; a deficiency, I wonder.
After drying and placing in jars for a week or so, it smoked fairly, smooth without much taste; the smell in the jars smelt a bit flowery; I hoped that more time in the jars would improve the taste; the potency wasn't a 'one hit wonder', but I was content, if potency would be improved while in the jars, that wouldn't have been a bad thing. . . I am very, curious to hear opinions on my grow/harvest/dry procedure. ..
Maybe I should put this in a new, thread, but I am curious . . how long before the THC/Potency begins to degrade when stored in clear, glass jars; (kept in a box at room temp); when stored in vacuum sealed bags and refrigerated or frozen .. what damage does the short term, room light received while tending to the jars do? .. Is there any viable THC in what appears must be trichomes stuck to the inside of jars that have been used for storage in the past, and how would one best extract it if it were still, viable?
