Hello all,

Ive been thinking about doing a micro for a while now, I saw these for $2.99ea and I grabbed 3.

(3) 12w 2700k 950lm

Ive been reading alot of you guys grow journals and I like what im seeing. I love stuff like this and some of the results are truly impressive. Thanks to all who took the time sharing the work and the methods.

Im pretty sure im going to build a box if i cant find one that works, not sure what size but I really like the idea of doing 1sqf grows.

Is 1g/w in 1sqf possible with these lights?

Could these cover more than 1sqf.?

Whats optimal in terms LED w/sqf.?

Taking the light apart some more..

Its a metal casing and the LEDs are embedded in it, recessed behind a metal lip. Im not sure i can take it apart any more than i have. What should i do with this?

I would just use that as-is in a standard socket.

If you have the room for it you may not want to limit your size to 1 sq ft. It's easier to grow when you have room to work with but it will do if that's all you have. Mine is only 1.5 sq feet and the limited space has definitely created challenges but it's enough to keep myself supplied.

I have a 2 x 4 flower tent and a 2 x 4 veg tent thats working out pretty good, im going to try a micro for a fun challenge and also some extra bud?

Who wouldnt want an extra ounce every few months?

What are you going to do? A single LST or ScrOG, or maybe a uSOG? Clones, seed? Micro is too fun, welcome to the addiction.

Im probably going to end up doing a single LST 14" sq. By....idk how high, probably 36"

Coco DTW, or i may set up a mini dwc or recicultaing. I like the idea of mini manual E&F.

I have 3x12w now but ive decided to make 4 sockets so i can add another bulb.

Ill be building my cab starting today, so lets see what i come up with.

Not sure what plant to run, i have SLH, Pinapple Express, GSC, an unknown, and a Grinspoon x ??? Accidental pollination bagseed from a friends grow. I think this time the plant will pick, not me. Lets see what one calls for micro.

So this is what ive managed to piece together so far.

I built most of the box with what i had laying around.
1/2in drywall, wood blocks, screws.

Im going to caulk the seams and paint it all over. The door i havent decided on yet. Im thinking velcro and tarp material.

I took apart an old lamp for some sockets and i already had an extra plug in wall socket.

This is where i ask of help. How do I wire this up? I dont have a soldering iron but i think i have those whatchamacallit ends for twisted joined wires. Crimp closures?

What i got.
Box dimensions:
14"x14"x32"
(partitions are 6" from top, 6" from bottom. These can be moved later if needed)

Lights:
(3) 12w 2700k LED (so far)
Plug, sockets.

Any tips, suggestions, etc, much appreciated.

Wire nuts should work fine. Wire them in parallel. Make sure to not cross the wires. Something like this:

So it's been a few months and all I've done so far is pick up a few more 10w LED that I'm not sure what to do with. I still need a door and a fan.. So far it's serving a purpose as a clone and seedling box.

I haven't forgot about it just been busy with other things.

Ocean state or tractor supply. There's lots of big box dollar store kinds of places around here. Lowes, home depot, Walmarts are everywhere...
