?? 175 Watt MH Lights: Will they fit my needs ??

I have a 2x7 meter greenhouse but am currently only using a short section of it (2-3 meters). The slanted roof is approximately 2 meters at the short side and 2.7 meters at the high side. The natural light hitting the greenhouse this time of year is very minimal so most of the light must be provided by me.

I currently have a dozen or so small LED lamps mounted fairly close to my seedlings and they're bending and stretching toward those. The stretching tells me those are not enough light.

I have two 175 watt MH lamps to install and I'm sure those will be fine if I hang them less than one meter away from the seedlings. However, I doubt they'll provide enough light when the plants grow larger. I have ten seedlings started.

Given that these are in a greenhouse, not a grow box, are these lights worth bothering with other than for starting seedlings? They have no bulbs so I'll need to buy new ones. I suppose I could arrange five larger plants in a circle around the each light so they all share them equally and turn the buckets every couple of days. Still, it seems most people use 600-1000 watt lights and hang them higher.

Please pardon my vulgarity but; Am I just 'pissing into the wind' with the 175 watt lights?

The 175w MH should be fine for seedlings, but not for larger plants. They're only good for about 12" of penetration for flowering plants. I've used 175w MH in combination with 250w HPS with good luck in a 2'X3' area, but for flowering plants in your given area you would be better off with higher wattage HID lighting.
