Hey icmag.
Will be growing at a friends house (rent free!)
Buying a trailer soon for the towable grow room. Slightly more expensive than a permanent structure, but it's not my house, and if it needs to be moved for any reason, with a moments notice, it can be moved.
Trailer is 7' wide x 7' tall, 16' in length. Will be building a wall to split the enclosed trailer into two rooms. Main flower room (sealed) will be 7x14, and the entrance room (electrical room) will only be 7x2.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You enter the trailer through the side door, turn a small light on, close the door behind you. You are in a small room (2 feet wide) that houses the sub panel, all the ballasts, possibly even the ac's condenser unit. There is a door to the main flower room (sealed).
Since I only have 7' of vertical room and 7' of horizontal room, I'm going with 600w bulbs so I have less penetrating depth to worry about as well as sticking to an easy 3x3 canopy.
You open the door, there is a 1' walkway through the middle of the flower room, with 4 600w bulbs on either side. Dual 3x6 trays on both sides of the room will give me two 3'x12' canopies to work with.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Along with a co2 generator (propane burner style), there will be a dehuey and a 24k btu mini split plugged into the environmental controller. Circulation fans will be mounted to the walls.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has been a while since I have had an indoor op running (outdoor last few seasons has been A++) so I have just some general concerns I would like some advice with.
1. Enclosed trailers are generally not well insulated at all. I plan to glue 4'x8' sheets of 1" thick reflective foam board from Home Depot to the plywood sheeting on the inside, and then tape it off for a full seal. Not positive how well this will help to keep the trailer insulated.
My only real concern is keeping the temperature in the right zone. Where the trailer is to be parked, average night time lows for the next 5 months are in the low to mid 40s. I will run my lights at night time, 4800w of bare bulbs. Will the flower room maintain proper temperature with 4800w of bare bulbs and the 2 ton mini split? I dont want to chance any temperature swings, whether they be high or low. I do not expect the trailer to be insulated very well, so the cold night air should help cool the trailer slightly. Could I, or SHOULD I, get an AC thats smaller than 24k btu?
I might be able to add an additional 1200w, making it 6000w total. Maybe a better bet to go with the 24k btu?
