16/8 to 12/12 hours?

I am planning on doing 16 hours on 8 off for veg period.Then reduce to 12 for budding.The reason is my accomodation is covered in a weekly payment to a real estate company that payment covers rent of my room gas & electric.
So as im not going to be seeing the increase in power on the bill (real estate)
I dont want to make them question the usage to much .I have been told a 400w bulb costs an average of 4.5AU cents an hour .
Anyway the plants should do alright dont you think maybe a bit slower than 24 hours of light in veg.

Most plants will veg just fine under 18/6,once in a great while you may see one start to flower under 18/6,but a lot of people here use the 18/6 veg cycle.

Unless it's just a typo....that's 16 hours on JLP.
Tricky Kid: at 4.5 cents...the 2 extra hours a day..would only cost $2.70 more a month.

Hey red,I realize its a minimal amount more $ but as i said my situation aint to cool ,I want the cheapest electric wise ,im just trying to avoid the real estate raising any suspicion ,they are very bitchy .

Re wire your outlet to 240 instead of 120. That right there should cutt your power bill in half...

Yeah,I actually read the thread topic wrong.I guess GEDs are overated.

16/8 would be a minimum veg cycle but it should still be fine,I'd probably opt for a 18/6 though.

then you should honestly consider growing some where else if the land lord is that bitchy and they find your little hobby grown is jail and being throwen to street worth it ????

but from what i understand any lighting over 14 hr's will keep plant in veg state as long as needed

Yes i always thought 18 on 6 off was standard for growers anyway
With some going 18/6 or/20/4 or 24 on(and as Majpot(btw i remeber u from OG m8)Said u can even go 16/8


Bottom line for me is i have always vegged 18/6(expect for winter when it was so cold in my veg room i had to keep lights on 24(Veg area is out in shed))
