Started this out in micro grow forums, not much in ways of responces other then mine. Couple good questions answered but wanted to keep more of a diary. LONG post incoming because I didn't find this forum until now.

Hi All -

First time grower. Not the best with tools. Documenting my mistakes and problems hoping others can learn from a first time grower who did NOT listen and did not follow the K.I.S.S rule. I am going to make this grow and this cab work, and I finally decided I needed a place where people can comment and help and I just had to get over my hangups posting here.

Equipment
Cab 36Hx30Wx20L.
1 Florolux 150w mini w/ connected balast. Has Glass shield, reflector.
1 active drip hydro in 2 gallon bucket.
Outtake 1 Inline 4" Fan w/ ducting to a carbon scrubber
Intake air is 4 Regular PC Fans I wired inline and connect from under the box, through the table in the back of a pc that sits below the table.
Mylar for grow area reflection
1 2" deskclip fan on the roof pointing down at light, 1 6" self standing fan on bottom to rotate air.

Enviornment
Heat is about 87 degrees after lights have been on for 6hours.
Temp coming in 70-71. The air is ALWAYS on 70 here.
Humidity is ranging between 25%-40% depending on the day.

So far Days vegged 2 weeks - Days Flowered 31

Starting out pictures from start to now:

started in soil with a 35watt CFL in computer case (Had no other options at the time) Lost of stretch due to me being to careful with light distance.

Topped early because I was a newbie who thought a bent branch would ruin the plant:

2 weeks of veg before flipped:

Picture of mutation 3 offshoots per branch instead of 2:

15 days into flower:

Forgot the name of it, but fungus showed up one morning.. been treating with strait HydroPeroxide / cotton swabs.. cleaning up nice until I can get fungicide - This picture is before treatment.. basically now the dark black and white powder are gone and its just brown.. looks a lot better.

2.5 weeks into flower:

4 weeks into flower (full view, and tri offshoot flower top.. sorry for quality camera is really low on batteries)

Wanted to say thanks to the forums for giving me the gusto to get out and grow. I do not buy or sell due to my own personal beliefs, I was always supplied by a very close friend. I have moved and no longer had access so I decided to take the plunge.

Biggest problem has been stretch and heat. Fixed heat 10 degree's so its down to 86 during mid 12/12 light cycle which I know is still a bit hot, but at least its not 96 anymore.

Humidity is rock solid between 35-40% now, before I had to fight to keep it at 30.

I am not impressed with the cab idea I had.. it has double sided (air space between innerwall and outter wall) which I was told might have a lot to do with temp not going down any futher.

I did NOT LST on this plant, No scrog. Was my first time, first bean. Wanted to just give it a run and see how it went. Next grow thinking of building my own variation of NGB box (right name?). Anyways please pull up a seat and enjoy.. I really like posting updates but I like it more when people like to read my updates =)

oh well not sure if I should even post.. doesn't seem to be many interested in my grow.

6 weeks into 12/12 flip and starting to show some problems with either nutes or ph, posted in the inferm to hope someone adds some insight.

Always had PH perfect tapwater, thinking now that it might have gotten changed.

looks like a burn to me.....either burn from being to close to the light.....or nute burn what type of fert you been using and how much of it?

not really sure to be honest.

A guy who used to grow and provide me with medicinal gave me some baggies with hand written labels of what they are (Grow, Bloom, Catalyst, Base, PH up and Down) and gave me directions on how much to put in for each gallon of water.

basically been putting in 3/4ths TSP of each except catalyst which I put in 3/8ths TSP (TSP = 2.45? I think ml?) with the ph tester he gave me I have been right around 5.5 - 5.6 (strips for testing, I know I know I need to get something better then test strips) with tap water.

I will see if I can get ahold of him (Have moved and not talked to him since, both busy) and ask which nutes it was he gave me. (Brand and what else should I ask? any strength related questions?)

Those plants are suffering nutrient burn, bad. Give nothing but water.. forever, and cut off all dead and dying leaves. hope it bounces back for you, good luck

yeah just start flushing her...and keep doing so every water or 2 untill shes done..............next time, try using no bloom ferts or just a small amount,to prevent this!

Thanks guys!

I took the advice and started flushing, I am at 6weeks + 5 days since 12/12 switch so I figured it was about time, if you go off the first female signs (white pistil) I am at the 5thish week mark.

I have some bud shots, my leaves are all yellowing now but no burn anymore showing up on the new stuff which seems to be from what I read the leaves sucking up all the nutes which is a good thing right?

Anyways thanks again will post pictures updated tonight when I get a chance.

Here are my 2 biggest buds.

The others arent as thick yet, not really popcorns but they just aren't as think. Smaller branches, smaller buds I guess.

These are the two easiest to get pictures from also, when I change out water I will get pictures of the others.

ok so I started with nothing but water. Now as of tonight all the good leaves have dried up to a crisp and the yellowing leaves are slowly drying out also.

I checked my res and the water line is still covering up to a bit under the netpot.

I am running out of fan leaves.. at this point where only 30% tric's are cloudy, rest clear what can I do to save her? Its way to early to harvest but I would rather have something then nothing. What remaining leaves she has left that havent died off are turning bright yellow still (this is now happening to the leaves on the buds, before it was just fan leaves)

am I just being paranoid and I need to just let it go until the trics are right, or will losing all the fan leaves to them drying up cause problems before the next 2 weeks are up?

When I say im losing fan leaves, I mean I am down where you can pretty much see through my plant and there is no canopy just the little fan's and even smaller bud leaves left. All the others have died off. The buds themselves are crystal laden, sticky an show to be in good health now but I am afraid in the next two weeks I am going to have problems.

The plant might have enough energy reserves and sugars built up in it's stem system to get it through the next two weeks. it's really up to you though. i'd wait. others might tell you to chop. good luck and let us know wht you decide

what happens if they run out of sugars or I guess the question I should ask is what should I look for in your opinion to decide if I should cut it early? Now its a race between sugars and tric color.. I guess what im asking is what should I look for while waiting for the trics to finish going to the mix of cloudy and amber I want, while making sure I am not hurting the plant by checking for sugar levels (hope that makes sense)

ok well I didn't cut it. Sugarbear II Suggested some things and as I was going through my plant I noticed something very important.

My pump was pumping, but my grow rocks were not wet. Anywhere. I put my finger under the water drip tube and it also was dry. Opened the res found light leaks, then also found out my pump was broken. It was pushing water in to the tube but it had 0 pressure to push it out.

After playing with it I realized the button was broken and even though it was slid on Full (On) the actual switch part was stuck on Off. I got a threading needle, Pushed it under the latch again so it clicked back on then moved them both to the Full position. With in seconds the water was flowing.

changed water, re-added hydroguard and taped up the light leaks.

Today when lights flipped back on I checked the plant, NO NEW DEAD LEAVES!! There is still major fan leave loss, and drying to dead leaves that are on their way out.. but in this pic you can see how the leaves on the right that were turning yellow, are now greening again and the ones on the right are now picked off (the dead stuff)

I also took a picture of a popcorn bud trying to find a good meeting point between zoom and macro mode

I also took a center shot of one of my kola's that gotten a bit fatter overnight also to you wont mean anything but I "marked" this spot last night with some twine (not twisted around the bud but just hanging off a little part of the leave and I can see marked improvement.

If you want to follow the inferm post that goes from finding nute burn, to fungus to what happens when a pump breaks here it is

koroz ! hows it going ? you have probably harvested by now ???

Actually I have yet to harvest. I figure another two weeks. Ill put pics up when I do. I had a lot of stuff I had to cut due to damage from the pump being broken, but I have 2 major Kola's and 1 small. They are about 10% clear, 90% cloudy right now.

Lots of new white root growth is replacing the brown dead crap, the plant itself is haggard and bare but the buds are putting on a lot of weight again. I figure ill wait for a good 80/20, or 70/30 mix of Cloudy to Amber because I like a little more of a headphuck.

I can't take pictures due to visitors but once I harvest I will put a picture thread and wet weight up. I figure my yield will be more then half what it should have been because of the pump damage. I have started to check trics daily.

AI's

AI's

I have some seedling of the AI's coming on.... I've been told there is a special pheno to look for.. The thing about it, is that you have to smoke it to find it.. So, labeling these will be a must, and then I'm not even sure I'll get lucky enough to get the special pheno.... I was told, it was like 10 times stronger, than the rest of the AI's, so we'll see...

The HPS makes the leaf's look yellow... They have jumped since this pic was taken... I'll try to get some more later ....

It's suppose to be a very good smoke from what I hear...

thanks for the reply.

Well I had to cut and run before I actually got anything worth while out of it. A person above me had a water leak and basically I had people coming in and out of my house for a couple of weeks.

Since then, I have kept it low profile because of things going on at home. Lots of foot traffic, guy upstairs from me got busted for a felony of some sort and cops were flooding the area. Never found out what he did, but they started staying in the area for a couple weeks trying to see if the guy ever came home. That was a while ago.

I just now felt safe enough to post again, it scared the shit out of me to be honest because at first I didn't know if it was some ploy to keep an eye on me. Yes, yes im paranoid. But alas, found out later the guy was busted and they have stopped coming around.

Not sure if I will try and grow again here, no room for me to build a box, and nothing I have really works. The box I used in this grow was part to blame for a lot of my problems because of trying to keep temps down and keep it air tight.

The other problem ranging from having a pump go out, cutting myself, and the fungus problem I ended up with a couple Soda Can sized buds wet, but when drying and curing realized the fungus had gotten to them, so I chopped up into a fine ground and got rid of it.

If I start a new grow, once I feel comfortable I will repost pictures in a new thread. I still have some AI beans left and I am hoping I get another tri-leaf pheno, because that thing before it started to die was pumping some serious action for one plant.

Thanks all for the posts and sorry for no updates until now. Just been scared strait for a while  :rasta:
