150w ballast wiring/case questions

Hello all!

Recently I recieved my 150w hps balast kit. Does this look to be wired Correctly?


Also, can I house the components inside a pc power supply case without them overheating?

my 150w ballast gets too hot to touch when i dont have a fan on it. I dont know ive heard others say it doesnt get too bad but just remeber the cooler electronic parts run the longer they last. I threw a heatsink and fan on the top of mine and now it only gets warm, much better than too hot to touch.

What wiring diagram did you use for it? I think the hot wire coming out of the coil going directly to the socket isn't right...but it could just be a model specific thing.

This is the wiring diagram on the side of the ballast.


The black wire nuts were on there when the kit arrived. I just assumed they would be correct.
