12x30 growroom

So im planning on buying a building thats 12x30.Its a quality built shed really.I only have an 8x4 area now and want to get a better space.I have 3 600w lights and some t5s now.

Basic idea i have now is to fill the space with lights and plants.I may buy two more 600w lights and divide the space into three parts. The entrance would have a wall with a door in the first part for parking a motorcycle. The other two rooms would serve as flowering rooms.I will buy 5 more reflectors and a flip box.and run the 5 600s twenty four seven. One flowering room dark one light every 12 hours.I will continue to veg inside under the t5s.

I know im gonna need a heater and air conditioner and would like some advice as to whether to get a wall unit or a portable with hoses? My climate has hot summers and mild winters with lows around 30f.

Can anyone give me some advice?I have 3 fast flowering strains dialed in i can have the space filled in 2 weeks with clones.Should i forget about the flip box and just run one 12 hour cycle with more lights and just one space?Intake?exhaust?Noise? Security issues growing in an outbuilding?Any comments welcome

If you are in a warm climate and plan on growing year round get a mini split ac..DO NOT get the portable type..They are good for 2000 watts...max!!
The flip box is a lot less red flags for the power company..I would think..A steady 24 hr rate instead of 12 spikes? You didn't mention if your building is in a medical state/ I'm guessing not.. I'd go with one room but that's me. You definitely want lots of clean intake air..Exhaust out the chimney if possible..How close is it to other buildings etc?

I have a large property in a rural neighborhood.I could situate it a good distance from any neighbors.power consumption, legal matters, and heat are the main reasons for the flip box.

What Btu rating should i be looking for air conditioner wise?I have 3 aircooled lamps now i may use adjust a wings in the second room.Just some thoughts i may have the funds in place very soon so ill post progress.Any more thoughts?

okay thinking on now terms i will buy a flip box and some light movers and reflectors. This should really maximize things.Any thoughts? so a 6 foot light rail on each 600 on a flip box so only running 1800 continuous watts for lights.Any comments?

tokersmoke,
So how many square ft total? Height? Will you have a water source inside? Sink? Drain or sewer connection? Walk space? Work space? What kind of intake and exhaust? Any partitions? CO2? You'll want at least 50w/sq. ft. Definitely no portable AC. Mini-split is most efficient, quieter. What's your wiring situation? Total amps? 110 or 220? You'll need 220 for the AC. Both is better-easier to get fans, etc for 110. Carbon filters? Hydro or soil, coco? How to handle runoff? You need to figure all this out first. Do wiring first.

Suggest sealed room [necessitates CO2], intake thru floor for lamp cooling, exhaust thru roof. Insulate with multiple layers of Prodex with air space between at http://www.insulation4less.com/ Also provides infrared invisibility.

Is sound an issue? Neighbors? Ante room for bike will help as a smell, sound and temp buffer. Good luck. -granger

Thanks for the well thought out response,I have decided for power reasons to only run three 600s on a flip box in two flowering rooms. So two partitions separating the entrance and the flowering rooms. No c02 for now.I currently have three air cooled hoods.I will set up an intake and exhaust fan in each room.I dont think funds are in place for a mini split ac heater.I do think i can run 600s in each space with minimal heat.I have the 3 600s in an 8x4 area now with temps at 78.I will have to buy three more air cooled hoods and a fan to cool them.I also plan on light movers to maximize electricity. My roomate is a electrician so wiring is nothing.

My plans have changed each time i think about it or find a new product.I have been pulling 4 ozs every two weeks in an 8x4 space for awhile. So a bigger space with the same lights running 24/7 should double my production.

I have a well near where i am going to put the shed that can easily be outfitted for supplying water to the shed the power pole is also nearby.I also have a fenced in yard and a power meter that is wireless so shouldnt be any power company men in the yard.

Okay so i went with a different building and have been a very busy bee.I bought a 12x24 and i am going a little smaller.I have cut the shed in half and made a 12x12 room.I built a wall in the shed and insulated the room with r13 and r30.I have ran three 20 amp circuits to the shed!!I have installed a 10k btu window air conditioner.

Im prob just gonna use the room for flowering. The night time temps have been in the 30s and daytime temps in the 60s.Im gonna clone my ass of and hopefully in two more weeks the temps will stabilize.I plan to run at least 15 18-24 inch plants under 4 600w in this room.I have been getting a least 2 ozs per plant at this size so 120 ounces should make it worth it!!

I would like to get a co2 burner and would like opinions and that.I would like to get the burner powered by propane any thoughts on this?

TS,
Not too late to add a layer of Prodex on top of inside walls. Makes your lights and rays invisible to IR detection.

Is your shed shaded in the Summer? How hot are your Summers? Will you grow in the Summer? You may need a 2nd AC unless you Summers are mild. Good luck. -granger

granger i really wish i had followed that link.Lemme tell you the specifics and ill put some pics up soon somehow.I put r13 in the walls then covered it with insulation board with a r value of 4.On the ceiling i put r30 and r4 insulation board.I put over $400 in insulation in a 12x12 room. The ac is a 10k btu its a really nice frigidare.

Summers here can top 100f!!I am running 3 air cooled 600w and will purchase one more in a week or two.I think 10 under each light will give me more then a pound a light and still provide room. With a 3 week veg time im sure i can get at least 2-3 ozs a plant.

I really want to run co2.But i may want to veg in this room so i know im gonna need an intake and exhaust fan. What type of filter can i use for the intake piping?

I really think once the room is set up to grow year round.A 12x12 space with a ten k btu air con and air cooled hoods should work temp wise. The shed is shaded partially.I really went the extra mile with this thing insulation wise.

Thanks for the help!!
