Alright. Done with Week six. Not sure the gravity made much difference. Pretty sure the kool bloom didn’t do much either. I took some pics with additional lighting some with the custom led setting on the camera. Didn’t turn out the best but still ok.

My conclusion thus far is; you need to know your strain and setup before you can properly gauge nutrients beyond the basics. My next grow is going to be just base GH nutrients. After I cut these ones down and if they seem denser I will re consider the gravity. I know this harvest won’t be as grand as the last but all and all I did learn some things.

I added a bit more than half strength nutrients today. This is her last week with any, hope she pulls some more buds.
Looking forward to trying my F’ing FIM Maddness technique next. I am guessing 2.5 to 3 0z on this grow, because the cab is just so empty. Not vegging long enough killed me…

OK well Seems this is the week they really packed on weight.

Must have a few days off on this grow cause they seem a bit immature from what I was expecting. I was going to start to flush them but I am going to wait a few more days... might of even stunned them a bit with the heavy nute schedule.

One thing I noticed is one of the braches I fimmed is growing big ass buds right down to the bottom!! not sure what’s up with that lol!

Also theres one pic where you can see the stem is full of buds for like 8" then theres 2-3 more sets of buds starting on the sides! Looks heavy!

This grow might not turn out so bad after all.

This thread just went from good to better. Looks like they are packing on some more weight and density, which seems to be one o the only things a lot of LED grows are giving up. The quality always seems to be there, but these and fattening up nicely.

Ha as far as distance from my plants, I'm pissed! I got such an un even canopy this time it's hard to say! I guess the closest buds are 3-4 inches away. Buuuuut I think I have a very strong strain going right now, I bet my DP grow will need a bit more room between light n plant. Gotta get that canopy just right..

OK just flushing them now. Last weekend when I was checking on them seemed the ole air stone was clogging up, coulda been the gravity cause it made a small amount of brown funky stuff on the bottom of the tank.

Anyhow I replaced the air stone with just a wacky junk one, now I noticed explosive root growth since 3 days ago… the roots were growing slow and were slightly discolored, I noticed long fresh white roots shooting into the water. Could this really be from the air stone being clogged? Fuckin AIR STONES….

we need a tool to measure bud density! something like that would flex to show a number until it penetrated er something.

LoL, it's called a lighter and a scale If you have a small bud that's really dense, it will weigh a lot compared to the same size bud that's not so dense. I did a comparison using AK47 one time, and the LED plants were 40% denser on average than the ones grown under HID. I do agree with you though, something that could measure density might be useful for posting information online.

Density = weight/volume. The hard part is the volume. That's what Archimedes was puzzling over in the bath tub. Anyway, I would carefully trim out some small buds, then place them in a container of known volume, like a 4 ounce measuring cup. Look up the volume of 4 ounces, weigh your sample, and divide. That's the approximite density of your buds.
Measuring resistence to penetration won't give you the density- just the hardness.

The easiest way to measure true volume would be displacement of another medium in a given volume. Ex: if you didn't care about using the nugs, put each nug in a measuring cup with equal amounts of sand. The difference in volume with the equal volume of sand would give you the actual volume of the nug. Then use the weight to calculate density as olekingkole explained.

my LED is 180W illuminator from prosource....thats my flash mingling with the LED light.....
the foot print isn't any where near what they advertise but i knew that was gonna be the case....(didn't discover LEDgirl till right after i got the light....lol).
my growth rate in week 2 flowering has been phenomenal.....very quickly almost out of room to raise the light....
was gonna LST all the branches into a flat canopy at week three but it's gonna have to happen tonight or tomorrow....

my og goal was to have LED and HID lighting in my closet space... 2 x 6. best of both worlds maybe...

i have a 250W HPS to move in there whenever..... i am pretty fukin' amazed at what the LED is doing alone though....

I feel ya on Finding LEDGirl a few hundered dollars too late! I bought a light from htg supply, from the looks of these comparison grows evern the Prosource was better than it!

After that grow "my first ever", I knew I needed a Penetrator! Best 126Watts! My first grow with it man, the head buds were thick! Almost waxy cause the resin just saturated the buds! So you can't really fake that lol, if so I'm a sucker for life!

they're spread out like a starfish..... it has some infra reds in there as well.....

judging from the growth...the light usable to the plant spreads out further than my eyes can see.... perhaps the infra red.....

i'm very impressed with this thing....almost wanna leave out the HPS and see what it can bloom on its own, but i have big plans for this little garden.....

i will split them up when i have a little more room to work with... 2 plants each......

i also have a 1000W w/hortilux eye blue parked cuz this house i rent is for sale and things need to stay extremely incognito for the moment.

Chopping this grow down on Wensday! Can't wait! Last time the lighter smaller buds were dry enough to smoke/ cure after 3 days! Not saying it was the best dry method ever but shit they tasted great!

I should be back to some good buds in a week!

Not cure, just dry, "the stem snap test"

No, As the weeks went on they cured in jars, the buds smelt more citrusy n good from when I first cut them..

Shit when I first cut down my crop with my Penetrator, it was my first experiance with dank fresh mj, it kinda made me sick to smell it that strong!!

My bud is generally dry within 4 days of hanging. I like to trim it wet, cut out the majority of the stem, and put it upside-down to dry. After 4 days it gets cut down even further and put into jars. Upon occasion I may leave a jar open for 6-12 hours after it's been closed for a few days, to let it air out a bit. Generally this is only necessary once, depending on whether or not the bud still had moisture going in (jar draws it back out). I then let it sit for at least a week in the jar prior to smoking it, but 3-4 weeks makes it oh so much better lol. I understand though that it can be difficult to maintain patience when it comes to smoking your crop

LED, my buds dry that quick also. How do you burp the jars? How many times a day? How long per burp? And how many days/weeks?

I use mason jars (I think?), that have a rubber seal on the top. I simply open them, make sure to mix the bud thoroughly (bringing bottom buds to the top), and let it sit for several hours or half a day. If needed, I mix it up one more time. I almost only ever "burp" this one time, and after that it stays sealed until use a week or two later. Upon occasion I burp again 2-3 days later, but it's rare. During use the jar is opened quite frequently lol
