I AM CURRENLY GROWING 12/12 FROM SEED...WELL I ACTUALLY LET MINE VEG FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS THEN I FLIPPED THE SWITCH. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A SMALL PLANT THAT STILL PRODUCES DANK WEED, THEN THIS IS IT...ALL MY PLANTS ARE CURRENLY UNDER 2 FEET AND THEY ARE ALMOST 4 WEEKS INTO FLOWER...WILL LET YOU KNOW THE RESULTS...YOU CAN SEE MY GROW ON THE LAST PAGE OF THE LINK ABOVE...

If you read that thread of Atmosphere's, you'll see how well it can work. There are some considerations and tradeoffs. 12/12 from seed is not for everyone. I'd do it in a flash if I had a lot of bagseed to play with.

starting from 12/12 right off the bat is like trying to teach a 3 year old how to drive a car.
Sure the 3 year old will learn but she'll probably crash and burn
Plants like to be vegged though.. What you're doing is creating more photosynthetic capable tissue that can be used later to direct and harvest a larger amount of energy towards flower production. If you flower right off the bat you're making your baby girl drive a car at age 3 man. Its better to wait until she's mature.
But do what you have to do, it will still work. just not as well

the buds are of lesser quality?? buds are buds, genetics dont get altered by doing 12/12 from seed.
lesser yields?? yes, however, you can get an extra harvest every year to make up for it.
small plants?? yes, but it allows for more, smaller plants to occupy any given area.

guys, take a toke and sip on some jack. All I was trying to imply is that in nature, as in the outdoors, its traditional to plant most crops at the beginning of the growing season. They veg for a while and then are triggered into flowering either by some genetic factors or by changes in the duration of light when the season starts to change. It's the natural way of the plant.
I didn't mention anything about quality either.. Don't worry.. i'm not trying to challenge the fact that hundreds of people have had success with this method.
It sucks having words put in to your mouth.
I will stand by the fact that plants with more leaves can harvest more energy from light. Its simply the fact that the more photosynthetic centers present in the plant the more light that can be converted to energy. (Any knowledgeable heads in the field of plant biology feel free to breeze me on this one)
This aligns with what rkhone says about smaller yields starting from 12/12. ALthough it doesn't matter much because like he said you can go through more cycles in a given year so you'll make up for the loss..
Anyways, nothing like coming home from work and seeing a couple heads yelling at you on the forums..
Using caps too much will shrink your prostate gland milkman... I read it in the encyclopedia =)
