I'll be updating again soon. I've just been pounding away trying to get the veg room version 2.0 up and running.

Even though they look great now you should have seen these girls when I moved them from the veg area.. all grown into each other and stretched, had to tie them up like christmas trees just to move them. It was ugly.

Unfortunately the same thing is happening right now to them while they wait for me to get the new veg area ready! The plants are always faster than me...

I went from using 2 600MH for veg and 20" diameter area to grow in, to a moving rack I made with 2 600's and 2 400's on it, and 35" diameter grow areas for each plant.

It's pretty much done now though, I think I'll be moving my vegging girls for next round into the last stage of veg later today. They clone and pre-veg for 24 days, then get moved and veg under a 400MH for another 24 days, and then under the rack for the last 24 days before going into the bud room. Then they will veg in the bud room for one week and bud for 65 days. Then the whole thing happens over again.

I'll put up some pics of that too at some point. The rack is pretty cool, uses 1 mover to move 4 lights.

Ok, time for a long overdue update. Sorry about that, I meant to do at least one more between my last and now, but oh well, I'll try to catch more on the next one, been busy lately.

Day 55 now. They've been on the gradual flush for a while, down to 0.3EC now.

My PH is doing things I haven't normally seen, but then again I've never seen growth like this either. It was doing the gradual drift up that I'm always used to, but about 10-12 days ago it levelled off and started dropping, even with my low EC.

I'll look through the system well when I take it town for any rot any where, but I doubt that's the problem, I haven't seen any slowdown in growth, everywhere I can see the roots look and smell fine, water uptake is still normal. I've heard that while they like a lot of P in early flower they really start demanding K later on. If it's just the supercharged growth I'm not used to with this much light, maybe I'm noticing this effect much more now, as gulping down the K would drop the PH. I'll get to the bottom of it eventually.

Really looking forward to trying this stuff out, had it before but didn't turn out as well as this time. Smells like chocolate coffee creosote.

Looks great, Last 2 weeks of Flower in RDWC, Ph falls daily. Normal for big plants. Seems to start when I add overdrive or shooting powder. All of my grows have done this and most see it with the under current system as well. Even with a ec of .15 It drops. I would set my ph to 6.0 and let it fall to 5 and repeat last couple weeks.

Any idea as to the water chemistry behind the PH drop gettogro?

I'm curious as to what is causing it, are the plants just secreting acids the last couple weeks? Is the plant no longer consuming very much P and is now consuming lots of M and K to drop the PH? Would be nice to know. I might try blasting it with mostly K at the end next time to see what that does.

P.S. gettogro I just noticed we've both been on IC for almost exactly 6 years, and have ended up doing something quite similar to each other, cool.

I used to experience the same thing... unexplained PH drop. For me it was pretty extreme, maybe because of a small water volume. The problem drastically lessened when I switched nutes... (from GH Flora to Ionic one part) no idea why... maybe the GH nutes I was buying were too old?

the reason your ph is dropping is cuz their near enuf done and are hardly eating, ph always drops when your feeding slightly to high, not high enuf to affect growth but enuf that the plants have all they need and more..

i know your only on .3 but as your ladies are finnishing off thats more than enuf, once in a rdwc i never went past .2 ec the whole grow with lush green til the end, used plenty of humic/ fulvic but jst shows how little feed you need with dwc type systems...

Looks good mr cheese.

Ended up taking things a bit early because of Thanksgiving coming up this weekend. It was looking pretty ready though. Chopped down at 57 days.

Pretty happy with that for my first run in the room and a very imperfect veg. New round is in the room, it'll veg for 7-8 days and flip and we'll do it all over again! Veg is a little better this time, but still didn't get quite what I was looking for as I didn't have the new area built quite in time for the plants. They had to stay somewhere too small for too long, stretched a bit, was a single tank so the roots tangled into each other and such, had to break some as I took them apart. 3rd time will be the charm, veg area is pretty much done now.
