Did I just hear Tremolo say the H word? lol Seriously though my bro, this is basically like a science project for you, get them to a semi-finished state without em dying off, and know that you can do it when all other factors are prime. I too tried to keep my grow's hidden, maybe got an 1/8th the first time, and learned alot. Invest in a door lock, then go apeshit in your closet homie...

Neekz you are a smart dude, and from day ONE you know what the deal is. Thanks for everything :thank you:

try moving them outside for as long as you can when your home, a lil sun light will help them to get stronger

I thought about this many times, and only did it once. I thought maybe that would be a "shock to the system" much like transferring a fish to a different aquarium.

Where'd ya order it from? Shoulda consulted teh IC first breh, That thing's gonna only be helpin much in the Veg. period. The bulbs on those are like .05 of a watt, very little penetration. They got ones now day's that have like 3-3W chips on em, same as the big boy panels, I would recomend those, I think Petflora uses some. Scour home depot for cheap bulbs like this View Image, they are basically the equivalence of the CFL's your using but less energy wasted and less heat. They are really steeply priced tho, but if you ever were into graff, Id say "Rack-em"!

I got it off of ebay, it wasn't exactly the BEST purchase, but i did it because of a few reasons. It was mostly to get a feedback rating on ebay while also buying something "useful" if you know what i mean.

Man i really hate to be up front, but you need to change your approach fast or those plants aren't gonna put out shit. Add more watts of light, improve reflection and don't water them so much. They don't need any nutes for a good 2 weeks in my opinion.

At this stage i would not rotate them.

Thanks kiwi,
i would rather take hard truths than be screwed.
I ordered socket splitters to turn my one sockets into two, and have 4 daylight cfl's plus the small aquarium cfl , (or maybe 3 cfls and that led)
I am just learning and trying hard , but stealth is my main factor. I looked at your micro grow thread, and read some valuable info about how "stealth" shouldn't be mistaken with "wasted time"

Please feel free to let me know how much cfl is too much cfl, that's a good question/

If your dad is walking by this thing it will reek of refer you should probably start thinking about odor control if you haven't already

Brother man already got a bong, no new news there lol. My parent's didn't mind me smokin or having bud. Even when they found my first hidden ish, they were pretty chill, only worried bout bill's, dad was actually pretty proud, never saw a purp plant before (Barney's blue cheese ;P). I wouldn't throw em outside bro, cause they will stretch more then your box. And don't worry b, that bulb will do something atleast.

Yeah man, don't underestimate the smell of these plants. The first time i ever grew inside i thought because the plants were tiny they wouldn't smell at all, but they reeked to high heaven.

If you have the funds you should try get one of those HPS security lights. Just a low wattage, 150watt sorta range. I think you'll find you have much better results with that than you would with CFL, however if CFL is your only choice i would recomend the PLL's if anything. I didn't have huge expections for my first CFL grow, and even then i was still dissapointed by the end product. They are really ideal for vegging mothers and for clones, but i wouldn't say they produce the thickest buds..depending on whats available to you man, i hear those security lights are only like 60 or 80 bucks. Prob would add up to around the same price as all those CFL bulbs and fittings.

If you are growing in your parents house, you might want to start from scratch and think of a new unit to be used as the stealth grow box. Maybe something like a Large Speaker box, you can usually pick up old ones for less than 5 bucks at the thrift shop. Or if you have a closet in your room, make it look really messy and just hide your grow box under the mess if you know what i mean. You can usually make a 1meter tall grow box in the closet look just like an ordinary pile of clothes. Do you have a spare suit case laying around??? LOL

I would definitly go more stealth on this with your father walking through everyday. Make the grow box something that is too obvious to be obvious. Like a speaker box sitting right to the left of your t.v or a computer case or something like that?.

Does your dad use the garage or attic much? You can hide larger grow cabs in these kinds of areas without being noticed than you can in your room. If you are really serious about growing long term and not getting caught you should get a PC case running as the mother/clone cab and a speaker box or something a bit larger like a refrigerator for the flowering box.

On the other hand, i don't really condone you growing at your fathers risk. But before i talk more about that, what are the laws like in your country? I know in some country's(like my own) the police can potentially take the property away from your father if he is caught letting it be used for growing. Now i highly doubt the judge would ever order something like that for a grow so small, but it's more about the fact you'd risk it even if the risk is zero to none. I am not gonna preach to ya though brother, because if your father was anything like me he'd pat you on the back and buy you a tent for your birthday.:smoke:

Here's a thread that is specifically about different types of stealth grows https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=2439217. There is a wealth of knowledge to be gained from reading through that thread and it's gonna help you make a final decision about where your grow is and how stealth it will be. Thanks SativaDreams for putting that together!.

You my friend got a girlie, those white thing's are pistils, they indicate the female sex (sensimillia son!)! And IME those mutated twisted leaves sometimes come from not having enough light/low light situations. Sometimes happens to undergrowth, probably genetic. I know my Blueberry bagseed is throwing funky leaves under low light, I have them under a 42w cfl in a 1 ft area and the leaves are getting all twisty too. My O.G. and Sour D. are going along fine lol... Soil, I say, every scoop soil, do a scoop perlite. 50/50 mix, you should see a huge difference. Vermiculite's pretty chunky so Id probably use it as mulch on top if the new mix ends up drying too fast. Good luck bro!

These pots are drying very quickly, would it be a good idea to add some vermiculite to the top layer of soil?

Also the miracle grow potting mix has some sort of nutes in it (couldn't find black gold, i tried though) , would that be a good idea to "top off" the pots with that soil to get some nutrients when it's time?

Just put more potting soil on top it doesn't matter.... you are just supporting the gangly stems from falling over as for nutes don't get all hung up on it... If it were me I would get some all purpose miracle grow the stuff high in nitrogen for veg but seeing as you're going straight into flower there is a high phosphate fertilizer called super bloom you can get from the garden center that should be enough to carry you through just get something to test ph

Yeah buddy, the vermiculite will help trap the moisture in the soil. And that's a smart idea bro about the ferts in the soil. If you got the time, you can sift the little fert balls out of the MG and sprinkle a couple when they look hungry (Not now btw...). Don't worry bout everyone else's opinion g, YOU yourself know your situation better than any. Like I said, my parent's are pretty chill, I only went stealth because I was worried they would bitch about the utility's (They did too, lol.). From my experience's, in my state, having your house seized over 1/8th of nugs in dixie cup's is wayy wayy far-fetched. Then again I chong out a block from our police station daily (Cop's around here are just like me and you, they don't really agree with MJ laws all the time...)... Honestly from my experience, fert's, especially chem based, only lead to trouble in first grow's. You'd be surprised how long they will go without added food. Better to stunt em a little and starve then risk burning it to death...

I added some fresh soil to some of the plants, mixed with perlite and some vermeculite on the top layer, they were drying out too quickly (daily) to the point where the dirt had "moved" away from the edge of the pot, everyday.

Upgraded to a wooden cab , does anyone have tips on making the fan stop humming so loud?

I almost shed a tear bro! That look's so close to the dimension's of my FIRST TRUE cab aswell (Back in HS...)! I had 2x42W and 2x26W horizontal back then... Id go 2 42W vert just like pictured after seeing Sgapetti's thread! Get a big pc fan (80-120mm) mounted on that back wall, in the middle, resting against the roof. I churned out some good budz in that sucker back then, glad to see you not so cramped bredren!

Oh shit I just saw the fan, that works too lol, not as stealth as the back, but thermally efficient. One tip for sound dampening is make a gasket of layers of duct tape around the mounting points, should muffle some vibration's. Get me the spec's of your fan and the wall charger your using and other charger's you have available (thing's like A's, mAh's, and the V's, and whether DC or AC for the output on the chargers...) and I can let you know which ones will slow your fan down and by how much (Slower usually means quieter, but not so with all bearing types.)

Get some foam for the area around the fan, or insulate your grow room. Imagine your plant is a mic and make a sound proof box for it. at least a deflector. Also if your fan is mounted somewhere you may want to make a shock of some type cause it may be causing noise from vibration. The bed foam from wal-mart works I guess, the thicker the better.
Hope I helped. google sound foam to research

It's a 120mm pc fan with a plug in ac adapter/
running at full force it's 1000 rpm
i have it only able to pull through a hole about half the circumference of the fan, if it can't pull too much air through it won't sound like a speed boat. A wall wart would be a great idea but the ac adaptor has two "slit holes" that line up to two metal "flat prongs" on the fan.
Fortunately i was able to jam some tape in there, i had no other choice but make it quieter.:woohoo:
The fan is efficient, and is definitely pulling alot of air out. You can feel it on the gap between the cab and the door, pulling air in.
