12/12 from seedling, no vegging?

I'm hoping to get a quick grow in (I miss it) The chopping time would hopefully be around New Year's.

What I'm thinking about doing is 12/12 from seedling, no vegging, and maybe a little LST. What can I expect if I try this? Good and bad expectations alike...

The plant will still veg for a while before showing flowers. It has to be mature before it can start flowering. With clones, they're already mature, but from seed they need to grow first. I don't know exactly how long you'll have to wait but I'd say at least a few weeks. If you're looking for a quick grow, and have the capabilities, I'd suggest trying out doing 6 hour and 40 minute days. This is the third thread I've mentioned this in, I need to go find a source now.

Edit: There was no reducition in quality, but there was a little bit of a loss of yield. The loss of yield is proportional to the amount of real time it takes to harvest.

Works good for sativas because they have a long bloom time. 12 weeks maybe. Indicas need a veg time but they have a shorter bloom. Looks like you will have scrape up money and get a new years sack.

Most strains aren't really meant for such a brief life cycle. Therefore I would recomend (never tried so don't REALLY know) a lwryder or madzing lowryder hybrid strain and you might be better off. Basically any auto flowering plant would be in your best interest IMO. You also don't need to worry about light very much as it will flower and finish on a constant (recomended) cycle of 18/6.

if you want a plant done before new years, your best bet would be clones

Also i remember pepople talking about this on OG, and i concur with sproutco in that sativas are better suited for this

It will take about 3-4 week for the seedling to start flowering. If your looking for just a small crop to have some smoke then maybe you can make the dark period longer. Once they start flowering use a 10/14 photoperiod and your plant will finish alittle earlier. So 12/12 at first then 10/14 when they start showing signs of flower. To tell you the truth you might as well forget it having them chopped by New Years though. It's already Nov and New Years is less then 2 months away. It will take at least 3 months to harvest a crop. Lowryder and it's hybrids can be done in 2 months but still they wouldn't be done by New Years.

I go 11/13 from seed and it takes from 18 to 26 days for the plants to show sex. Once the females are identified, I go 10/14 and let them continue for as long as they need to mature, which can be between 45 to 60 days, depending on the plant. Then you're looking at drying time of a few days and optimally you want to cure for a bit. So to start now and hope for something for New Years is pushing it. But why don't you go for it? You'll have some smoke for after New Year's and there's nothing like smoking your own.

To cut down on the time between harvest and smoking, you could watercure as soon as you harvest, and then put the buds in a dehydrator, and smoke them as soon as 5 or 6 days after harvesting.

There are sour bubbles finishing within 5-7weeks under perfect conditions indoors. Problem is they need some veg-time to get going. When flowering is gonna be induced early it's at least advised that you get throught the seedling stage and into veg first. (3-weeks 18 or 24 hours light cycle)

I am currently starting a grow doing the 12/12 from seed method.

My last grow was done this way, quite successfully IMO. I grew out 4 Nirvana NL females, and harvested at least one ounce per plant. The plants topped out at 12", 16", 17", and 23". The 12" girl developed a mold problem due to the density of the cola (got an ounce dried off her, went to making cannabutter) even though my RH was low at around 45%.

If I remember correctly, these NL girls showed their sex around 15 days or so. I am now on day 17 of the Nirvanan bubblelicious, and they aren't showing sex yet.

Anybody do the 12/12 method with Bubblelicious who can report on how long it took for their plants to show sex?
