12/12 from seed, strawberry diesel, good idea?

hey all, looking at Double Strawberry Diesel from Reservoir seeds

its a strawberry cough X sour diesel
thinking about a 12/12 from seed, not expecting a huge yield per plant...
if i did 12/12 from seed with this, how tall do you think they'd get? 1 to 2 feet? what do you think for yield? probably use a 400w hps

well i guess nobody really has any input

i found this grow... its pretty much exactly what i was looking for
this guy did a test grow with Strawberry Diesel, and Sour Diesel IBL. 5 seeds of each were put into 12/12 from seed. and the remaining 5 seeds of each were veg'd normally, and then flowered. just to see the difference of 12/12 from seed.

Smell the flowers ... i doubt there will be any problems...the only thing you will encounter is smaller yields and possibly some hermie bananas.... i think most plants can be set to 12/12 from the start...how ever some plants will stress and herm and all plants wont reach their full potential of growth!! veg them for 3 wks..it cant hurt....i dont like to start at 12/12 for the simple reason of shitty yields!

funny you say that, i was actually planning on vegging on 24/0 for 2-3 weeks using some 6500k T5's

You can expect a Hugh Yield or Not..This cousin is the SourQueen all from the DSD=Double Sour Diesel and Killer Queen

I have seen some phenos that are stringy coming from the DBLSourDiesel side with the budsites spread out looking like an IBL SD... At least An 3/4 ounce or more

I crossed This SQ with a SQ Male...I figured that the smaller male will make the females smaller and making the budsites closer together.It works too!

All from 12/12 and I think the SQ plant made close to 4 Zips

I also have the DSD=Double Strawberry seeds but waiting for the weather to cheer up

I edited this....I veg the plant for 3 weeks then 12/12.....this is because the leaves cannot handle the HPS light as it will burn it off and kill it...also a time to repot this veg plant and 12/12 right away with a little B-12 as to leesen her stress levels...I assume all my plants are females

3 week veg then 12/12? Nice... what size pots do you use?
What lighting do you use for veg? and for flower?

how tall do they get?
what do you yield average per plant?

What do you mean HPS will burn the leaves??? Ive grown under HPS and the leaves never burnt off, you just cant keep the light too close to the plant, gotta have it atleast 12" away

No Problem....Usually germ the seed then move them to a little small soil pot with about 70 watts of Bulbs.Once it has those 4 tiny leaves set up and it grows toward the light, I repot them to a 2 or 3 gallon pot with a hotter soil mix..Blood (half table) and Bone (half table) and Organic grandular leonardite by GH called Black Diamond in a miracle grow soil with perlite.... I think about a tablespoon for 3 gallons soil.I use also B12 when repotting into the final home and feed her Nitrogen...The SQ's LOVE this soil !! I bury her all the way up to its neck with those 4 leaves just barely touching the soil because she is gonna take off.

Most of my SQ's F2's reach about the 4 foot level and depending on the interlodes if it's a mucho brancho genetics then I would flower her out.The 400 HPS hortilux does a good job.I do have a Lifesaver X SourQueen cross and its really a killer Strain with strong stoney properties from the LifeSaver,,,This strain reaches only 28 inches in Hydro and packs a Wallop yield! 230 grams wet with 93 grams dry...but a little tad flavor.

Wish I can try the SQ F2's in hydro !!

I use Distilled water in soil and the flavors come out better and no chemical taste as if using a kitchen sink water via chlorine..I learned ALOT from these forums and good luck to you too!

Awesome, I was planning on vegging for 2 to 3 weeks in cups under a 100watt flouro. Then transplanting to 2 or 3 gallons and putting them in 12/12 under a 400w hps... so it seems we have similar plans. My plants cant get any taller than 32", I have a feeling if I use a 3 gallon container the plants may overgrow my cabinet. Do you think I should use a 2 gallon? And then transplant to a 3 gallon later in flowering? Or do you think using a 3 gallon from the start would be better... i just need to make sure they dont get taller than 32" - for most of the plants I think it will be fine. Most will top out at 24" tall, but some may get taller.

I'll start with 2, and see how it goes, using double strawberry diesel by rez hopefully. It'll be 2-3 week veg in cups then xplant to 2-gal and 12/12 flower.

My Bad for the confusion

That was meant as to only repot her to the final potting home,so I would repot her 1 time.. I would use 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion with the B-12 when repotting it as a baby to its final home in its 2 gallon soil pot until dry then normal stronger Veg feed..not the 5-1-1 anymore,just one shot feed


yup..pretty much how it would lessen the stress on the plant to get more females...getting over 90% females that way.

I love how those tiny branches appear..all in the right places!

Yeah Im thinking 2 gal... i don't want these ladies stretching past 32" so im not sure 3gal would be smart.

I just hope they dont get rootbound on a 2gal... i dont think they would? a 2 week veg in cups, then xplant 2gal and 12/12 flower... should be ok? and do you think yield will be ok with 2gal? im not expecting much per plant, since 2wk veg, only expecting 14 to 28 grams per plant

I think im deciding on Female seeds cinnamon, Paradise Sativa Spirit, and Rez Double Strawberry Diesel

Should find something I like in there
