12/12 from seed, pruning question...

Hey everyone,

I was curious if anyone who runs a 12/12 from seed has ever pruned off all or most fan leaves when they are a few weeks into flowering?

My thoughts for this are that all the lower nodes will all get more light and since the plants are small and in smaall containers they will be fine with the foliage that left. Also it will obviously reduce branching.

I've already done this on a few and seems to have worked with no problems.

Should I do it to all of them?

I keep them on until the buds start to actually fill out. Otherwise I think that the early onset of bud is when the plant branches out and makes space for flower development. Try to leave the fan leaves where the buds actually are, but creating so negative space for air flow will make you plants happier....

just don't water heavily right prior to a pruning session

(I love pruning since I used to work on farms()

Yeah man, I am a horticulturalist plus a bonsai "artist", so I like pruning too, to say the least, haha.

The buds are def starting to just fill out that's why I wanted to get more light down there.

I see what your saying about leaving them on and air flow but less light will get down there...

Decisions, decisions

The thing is their pretty small and a lot of them to tie down. And i am just using seed from did things I grew outside, bagseed and named, but stupidly lost track. Eventually I will pick some legit strains.

fan leaves = solar panels. let them die off

They sure are the energy sources of these ladies, but Im just not sure they need them, plus the lower ones are all dieing off anyway, idk if it a N def. or what...

Why 12/12 from seed?

with 4 2gal pots you should be able to pull a qp out of 3x3x5 and a 600w hps, or were you just pheno hunting?

ive never seen this before so im just curious as to how the roots are doing in one cup of soil for that long, you must feed them quite often?
