12/12 from seed, how bad is this

what do u think u really loose in yeild by running theese autos at 12/12 from seed? over say 20/4? is it substantial from anyones growing experience, ive only done autos outdoors.


my reason is light leaks, security, ill have to keep it natural like the outside rising n setting sun.

Sounds like putting an Auto strain on 12/12 specially from seed seems like it want reach its full potential of 18/6 or 20/4 or 24. Is there any particular reason why you want to run your autos on 12/12?

light leaks will not harm autos like photo period plants and I would say half the yeild would be lost if you run em' on 12/12....why would you even consider 12/12??? you got reg plants going too?? and if your gonna do 12/12, you might as well do reg plants....but then light leaks WILL be a prob...jmo

it would be nice if people with actually experience would chime in, those that have grown autos under various light cycles and have seen or not seen the differance more or less light makes, thx. my reason is clearly written above, my grow has to coincide with sun rise and sunset, cant have an hps glowing orange for 6 hours out my window when its pitch black outside.-

I have grown them under 12/12 and they stay very small, a couple joints worth.

Not much point in growing autos. You'll have better results going seed to 12/12 on a non auto strain.

thx dykster, i just dont have a tent or a cab or anything like it, so i can grow autos at 12/12 or i cant really grow anything and be stealth, traditional stains are out becuase i have no way of keeping them completly dark and we all know that ruins plants n causes hermies or delayed flowering, i may have to get a cheap cab an size way down, but be able to keep the light on 20/4 and just deal with less plants but grown better, i so want to breed theese dam autos and make hundreds of seeds for next spring were i can really go crazy outside without haveing to spend ten bucks a seed. ill be putting out probally over a hundred plants next year,,, baaaaaaaaaaaaank time bitches, thx for the adivce one n all.

I've grown decent sized autos under 12/12 and 13/11 from seed.
Sure you loose yield but if you're doing reg side by side it can be worth the effort to smoke something fast. Also few people mind to change the light cycle with autos. You can start at 20/4 and switch to 16/8 or less after a month loosing very little in yield. Auto's veg is the very critical phase imho. Experimenting various light schedules is always a way to improve, save some bucks and better understand your plants.

If the light being seen through the window is the issue, why not address that instead? They make black out window shades that are effective at blocking the light. They are fairly inexpensive and work well.

I've grown a 12\12 regimen a few times and got decent results. In fact they grew about the same height on the shorter light cycle. The bud did seem to be a little fluffier but still good quality. I am crossing great white shark x diesel ryder right now at 18\6 under LED lights. I am doing a straight seed run cross.
