12/12 From Seed: A Few Questions

The original sticky thread is over 2,000 posts long, and as most of it seems to be taken up with pro/con banter, bashing and general ugly stiel scheizen, I can't muster the kind of time to wade through the whole thing to find the valuable nuggets.

So, to all who have had good experience with this method, would you be so kind as to answer a few quick questions? (I'm not at all interested in negative opinions about 12/12 from seed. I've got good reasons for trying this myself; if it works as advertised, then it would fit my situation perfectly. If you don't think it's a good method, keep it to yourself; I don't care.)

  1. I assume I only need to feed with flowering formula (I'm a dedicated coco grower) and C/M. Right?
  2. Assuming all goes well, how many days should I expect it to take from sprout to harvest?
  3. Will LST improve bushing and yield, or does that only work in a vegetative period?

Thanks in advance for your help! :tiphat:

I just did this in a competition in solo cups- organic water only soil. Sprouted on 8 Feb, just harvested 15 May-it was a 9 week flowering strain-yielded 24 grams

Some people topped in the comp, some didn't, I ran 2 females out of the 5 seeds we were allowed to pop and the other Pheno only yielded 9 grams

Thanks, y'all.

Fly, I've only got second generation bag seed, so no telling the strain. I'm just rollin' the dice, I guess.

Vitamingreen, so it slowed down the flowering time, (14 weeks for a 9 week strain) but actually shortened seed to harvest time by several weeks from what it would have taken had you allowed a veggie period. But assuming you light 'em up with more than 24 watts, 24 grams is a bit shy of the 1 gram per watt that Hal mentions in the original thread. Still, almost an oz from one plant is an amount I would not be disappointed with, since mine is for personal use only.

So, your two fems were different strains? Do you think that explain the small yield of the second one, maybe a strain that doesn't respond well to 12/12?

Thanks again!
