Hey all, i have 3 plants of uknown background (friend's labelling mixup) but are suspected to be Motarebel's Herijuana, Killa queen v2, and possibly a DP blueberry. I have vegged them for about 6 weeks and it has been on the 12/12 schedule for lil short of 3 weeks.

No noticable changes.... is this normal? its under a mh and planning to switch to a 400 watt hps.

purple- hardly, an MH will not cause a plant not to flower. Plenty of people flower with MH's.

pookey- Make sure there is no light leaking into the growroom, and that the timer you are using is set right, assuming you have a timer. Are there absolutely no budsites growing at all? or are there just little buds growing? Alot of strains won't start budding alot until 3-4 weeks into flowering, especially sativas.

I have a maui wowie going right now that took over a month of 12/12 to show sex (34 days). I wouldn't be too worried after only 3ish weeks.

Yea, but isn't maui wowie a mostly sativa strain? I reread his thread, and it seems a little weird that some of his strains which are indica dominant or mostly indica, aren't showing any buds yet. Mota's herijuana i believe is almost pure indica.

You mentioned something about switching to a 400w HPS - but you say it's under a MH right now. What wattage is the MH your using now?

Just to be sure - your positive your timer is working properly at 12/12? Are you using a analog or digital timer? Is it old or new?

Good luck on all yr grows..

Pookey, Like said check for light leaks and because of unknown origin give them some time, look for pre-flowers I would not be too worried about 3 weeks. I had a plant from seed take 5 weeks ,but the clones show flowers at just 2 to 3 weeks, Light leaks in my case had been an issue it drove me nuts. Sometimes pre-flowers are hard to spot. Pax____

So everone knows 12 or more hours of darkness consistently every 24 hour period induces flowering in cannabis plants, light spectrum has nothing to do with inducing flowering. Some strains may flower better under HPS,some under MH but none will flower without 12 or more hours of darkness in a 24 hours period with consistency.

Ok thanks for all the responses. and to answer some questions

Light timer is new...got it from home depot. it was listed as 15 amp heavy duty adjustable timer...not digital

the mh wattage is a 250 and is placed in a 4 square foot box (2 X 2). Im about to wire up an hps 400 watt.

I will try to put pictures up, but the grow is away from my house and i would need my grow partner's schedule to see if we can meet up. There was a small crack in the back of the box, but its inside his closet. Im never knew that such small light leaks could postpone flowering. I will go and see if any budsites are forming.

I use the same timer as you actually, got mine at HD as well. I have never had very small light leaks delay flowering, and i've had a few light leak problems in some of my earlier grows, but the less light leak the better, try and make it fully lightproof if you can. Also, make sure your timer is set to give them a full 12 hours of dark, you can even set it to give 12 hours and like 15 mins of dark, just to make sure.

Shit between the diodes on my window AC, diodes on my dehumidifier, and propane generator pilot light my you can get a tan in my floweroom during lights out.No red diodes allowed. No herms in many years too.You want to keep it totally shielded from outside light sources, lights from diodes propane burners and such in the room itself are of no consequence. If you have no inside light sources and you can see your hand in front of your face at 18 inches you have problems
