Ok Im growing 21 plants in a 52inch x 52inch x 7feet tall hydrohut. Im growing in 1 gallon pots. I have 5 SourOGKush, 3 OGKush, 5 Snowcap, 1 White Widow, 1 Blueberry, and 6 random. They are all 11 days old from seedling and I was wondering when it was safe to start feeding lights nutes? I read somewhere that FF soil was good on nutes for up to a month so should I hold off on the nutes for another week? Also Im gonna be flowering in a week so should I just skip the veg ferts and go straight to flower ferts or give light veg ferts for the first 2 weeks of flower and then switch to flower ferts? Please help me out thx.

i personally would be lightly feeding them at that stage
but that's me
others might feel different

beyond that if you can veg longer.. you'll be more satisfied with the results, imo. you could train for your space.

Are they showing signs of needing a fertilizing or do they look healthy and content/happy?

Judging by your pics they look fine to me but you could lightly fertilize...I'd use 1/2 what the manufacturers recommended dose is as a start just to see what plants are heavy feeders and what plants are light feeders.

IMO if you are going to flower that soon and as has been said, they look healthy, I would probably only fertilize with some superthrive or something that helps root growth. I'm assuming you are going to put them in bigger containers prior to or at the switch. FF soil does have nutes available in it, perhaps an experiment lightly fertilize a few and keep others for controls. Of course keep in mind diff strains can effect growth rate so try to fertlize a few of one strain keeping others of the strain w/o to see if there is a diff. Base results for next time. One additive I strongly would encourage you to add when you repot for flower would be Mycorrizae (sp?), done an experiment with it on a friends grow and the 2 plants that did not receive it fell way behind of the others that had received it. Remember that h202 and certain other additives do kill beneficial bacteria like mycor.

They all look pretty healthy to me but Im sort of new to the growing game. I wasnt planning on repotting to bigger pots because I have 21 plants going and am afraid I might run out of room if I repot. Are 1 gallons too small to flower in? Let me know what you guys think. Thx

Now is the good time like previous posters have stated, yet I would half strength the dosage for at least the first week of feeding, maybe two.
:joint:

The reason that they need to be put in larger pots is so that when the root system has established itself and you start hitting the later parts of flower they will be drinking a considerable amount of water daily. To give yourself a break from having to water multiple times a day it would be best to have more dirt to hold more water. A product called soilmoist could be mixed in with the soil to also help ease the water needs since it will retain something liek 300% OR 500% of itself in water content, cant recall which number it is at the moment. This means more water available and longer periods between waterings.

i'd flip em in a week.
like you said, you'll run out of room if you get half ladies.
from the looks of the plants i'd say they can take some ferts now. i'd give them a half dose and see if they like it and then go with veg ferts for 2 weeks or so and then switch to bloom ferts. probably was your plan anyways, lol

I think I'll water them with 1/4 strength veg nutes and see how they like it and start flowering a week from now. Other then having to water more often, will 1 gallon pots be good enough for flowering considering the space and amount of plants I have? The Kushes are all feminised so thats 8 females right off the bat. Im looking for nice medium sized plants not huge giant ones. As I said my space is limited. What do you think? Thx for the support.

Well just figure they will probably double on avg after you flower so whatever size you flower them at will help guage how big they become. I think 1lb would work fine if they are that tall when flowered. I've seen bigger plants done in 1lb bags and they turned good yields.

Next time you can use a wick system, so they can feed themselves. You could also install a dripper and put it on a timer for now, or ever, just keep an eye on it. Hydrohut says it can hold some water..

1 gallons are ok to flower in, esp with that many plants (if half or or are female). Kinda SOGin kinda not, a little longer veg time and diff strains together.

Just water with very oxygenated water to help out with the cramped spaces. (nice to move into a larger place when you are about strech and explode with growth)

Yeah I was thinking the same. I would love more space but Im confined to a 1 bedroom apartment and just dont have the room to grow more but its definately on my mind. Yeah watering them is a bitch because I have to pull each pot out to water 1 by 1. How does one set up a wick system and or drip feed. Sounds interesting and would make my grow that much easier. I read up on topping the plants to control height and spawn more bud sites. I also read that not all plants respond well to topping and considering the diversity of plants I have, Im not sure if topping would be a good idea. What do you guys think? Im open to suggestions. Thx for the help.

Not sure on the drip, but I would not top them, especially at the size they are now. If you want multiple sites I would LST(train) them and produce more sites like that but even then not sure how much time you have until you flower so you might not develop too many more. What measures are you using to control odor for during flower?

Havent taken any measures for odor control atm. Havent really given it much thought. Will they smell that much? LST seems like the way to go so I think I'll try that. How do you LST btw? Thx for all your help.

just tie them down slightly. The theory (as far as I have grasped) behind LST is when you bend down the plant it doesnt know what branch is the main (highest) top and so it diverts its hormones equally and helps to "bush" out the plant. Ive dont some minor lst by mostly just bending to get the plant to bush out a bit and im amazed by the results a few tie downs and bends can do.

As for ferting, if your new like me hold off a bit. I burnt my babies by trying to be to loving at first when i was using rich FFOF soil.

Other than that awesome looking setup! Id think about a carbon scrubber or vaportek unit in the near future.

General LSTing: Pull the main stem horizontal withthe pot (make sure NOT to snap the stem). You tie it with string, wire or whatever to the pot so its laying down. That way all the brances grow upwards like colas (they arn't tho). Its scroggin without the screen.

For the wick, you put cotton string (or anything that absorbs water) in your pot, fill it with dirt (the string should be about halfway up the pot). On the bottom of the pot there should be string hanging out, put that pot into another. When you watter all the excess drips out into the bottom pot and the cotton string "wicks" it back up to the top pot where the roots suck it dry. (I tend to use this w/ 5 gallons outside, takes about 5-15min for pots to get bone dry on a hot day). The downside is you cannot do it right now, alread have dirt and roots in ur pots.

Not too sure on a dripper, just seen pictures. Get an aquarium pump, or some type of pump for water. You will need a reducer so you can fit aquarium airline tubing in it. Hook it up to your pump and the other side split off into your other plants. Get a T section for the tubing so you can make a circle to go around ur plants. Put the pump on a timer for like 2-4+ times a day, however many seconds it takes to saturate your pots. (you will need a digital timer) Downside is there might be some flooding and you would probally need multiple pumps (2 or 3, depends on how bad ass it is)

Sorry if a bit of this is incoherent, just woke up. First thing I did was check the site (anyone get another website when typing in icmag yesterday?) brought back horrible memmories of overgrow's dissaperance and gave me much needed incentive to start backing more shit up...... hate how nothing lasts forever...

Thx guys. The wick and drip feeding systems all seem great but I kinda like the hands on experience watering by hand gives and also gives me a chance to inspect my plants for any signs of problems. But I am definately going to LST. I did some more reading on LST and the technique seems to be my best option. I dont want any popcorn size buds. I want big frosty dense colas. When should I start LSTing? Before or after the switch to flower? I appreciate the support im getting from you guys. Gives me that much more confidence.

Thx bro. That LST link you provided was instrumental in clearing a few key questions I had concerning the LST technique. Props to POMH for taking the time to write that up with pics and all to show how its done. I started 1/4 strength veg nutes (grow big) today and will start flowering on monday. I will continue to feed veg nutes 2 weeks into flower and then switch to TB. Question: When and how should I apply Big Bloom and at what dosage? I bought Grow Big for Veg, Tiger Bloom for flower, and Big Bloom for taste and smell from what Im told however I am unsure as to how to apply Big Bloom. Please help me with this dilema. Thank you.
