10x5 tent, (2) 600's...keeping cool and somewhat sealed..? How to duct window AC?

I've been stuck on this for a few weeks trying to plan it out and get it straight.

Bought a nice 8000 BTU window AC unit that I can mount about 1-2 feet away from the outside of the tent.

Tent is sitting inside a standard 10x12 foot bedroom.

I also have a 6 inch 440 cfm inline fan and carbon filter.

I am thinking to run the window AC through a duct and into the tent...then plug the AC into a controller with separate controls for day and night....then drop the probe for the controller into the tent?

Then run the fan inside the tent through the filter constantly to keep the smell down...

If I do this, can I run with no intake or exhaust?

I'm just worried about positive pressure I guess from the AC being ducted into the tent with no exhaust?..

Thanks for any help

Or should I just vent the tent out the top like normal and add passive intakes?

Then just run the ac like originally planned and ditch the Co2?

It just seems really tough to get a sealed room to run without going to a split AC system..

...why not just use the AC in the window in a standard way and set the tent up as a stand alone unit with active exhaust and scrubbing but venting into that bedroom, ...i've done this myself for the last few years and it works just fine, AC for the hot months and open windows for the cool months.

...my space is actually a 4.5ft x 4.5ft x 7ft closet with an accordion door so i built a false front just inside it with a door, the passive intake is from under the floor and the exhaust is vented at the top into the bedroom.

...here's a couple construction shots so you can see how i laid it out but the point is that you can just control the ambient temperature of that bedroom without going through any special ducting shit, ...it's maybe even safer than venting hot air directly outside.

Ok so that seems A LOT better...thank you

Now, should I just put the carbon filter and fan inside the tent and vent it out?

or put it inside the tent as a stand alone?

or put it in the room that the tent sits in and run it as a stand alone?

or do I duct it out of the room all together and put it stand alone in the room?

Thanks again

if you look closely at those pics you'll see that the fan and scrubber are hung up top and within the growspace, so inside the tent in your case.

what you are doing is passively sucking in cool fresh intake air and exhausting warm, scrubbed air back out and into that bedroom, ...as long as you have enough fresh cool air coming into that room you should be good to go.

...btw, unless you are an experienced grower with several grows, in this tent, under your belt, i'd suggest you skip the complication of CO2, ...even if you're attempting to establish a commercial op, unless you know what you're doing, you won't know whether or not the CO2 is even beneficial.

...so i'd say it'd be better to spend your efforts nailing down a basic and productive system, with 'simple' being the watchword, before you begin adding in levels of complication, the more complex a system is the more potential problems there are that CAN arise so if you nail 'simple' down you can then start adding one new complication at a time so you'll KNOW, in very short order, if that addition was truly helpful or a complete waste of time and money.

...anyway, that's my take on it and i've spent the last few years eliminating complications so now my grow is not only as simple as i can make it, it's more enjoyable than it's ever been before, ...shit practically grows itself, lol.

Thank you

So if I vent out of the tent and into the room it'll be better than just venting unto the attic?

Will the AC pull fresh air from outside or will it just recoil the same air as it circulates in and out of the tent?

no man, if you have the option then venting into the attic might be the way to go, ...what i'm sayin' is that you don't have to vent into the attic to make it work, it isn't REQUIRED.

...here man, check this out and you should find all the answers on this topic you could need.

Ventilation 101

...and don't take this the wrong way but i can see you're new around here so i think it's worth noting that while this is new to you, it ain't new, ...if you learn to hunt for your answers i promise you you WILL find them, they ARE here and if you hunt for them you will get much more complete information AND it will probably be more reliable too.

...so don't stop asking questions and such but understand that the more proactive you become the quicker you will learn.

Thanks so much. I actually did read through a TON of the ventilation thread..the growroom designs and equipment stickies and a lot of the other ones.

This is my 2nd harvest in DWC...however I have read online for roughly 500 hours over the last 3-4 months and always been a weed lover.

Not trying to get you guys to do the work for me or just be lazy...

I truly appreciate your posting and will keep reading constantly (and practice) in the quest for ultimate dialage
