I have a pretty easy question.

Maybe Im lazy, but Id love to hear from someone who knows about this.

I have 3, 3 gallon buckets, that have a bulk head fitting on the bottom, 3/4 inch. I have a manifold with a t fitting for 2 buckets on the long end of the line, with a side t going back to the pump, which pulls the water from the drain system and pushes it up about a 8 or 10 inch rise, to the chiller.

The out from the chiller, which is the feed line, is half inch.

The half inch lines runs from 2 t fittings, that lead to 90 degree elbows, pointing down into the hydroton/netpot.

The longest run is like 3 feet, not much for this pump. I have 2 choices.

I can run the pump inline, and just use the closest bucket feed line to test ph.

Or I can take another bucket, submerge the pump, and have the drain feed into the "control" bucket, and I would feed and adjust from there.

While it does allow me to stick t in the bucket, and direct the water up like a fountain to get more surface agitation and not have to use any alita air pumps.

It also makes me increase the amount of water and nutes, that no plant will uptake.

I just follow instructions on the bottle and aside from trying to figure out how to feed the plants asides from the volume of water which is something I dont want to have to do, and my dwc grows work well, I dont want to have to run food and water and GH ph up or down just cause Ive got extra volume of water to make sure the pump does not run dry.

Running it inline cuts down on nutes/water, making my data easier to deal with for myself.

If I need to lift the net pot to look at the roots if there is some problem, wouldn't it work out to just use the closest plant/bucket as a control?

Also, forgot to ask, if I run this 1056 gph pump, with a 3/4 inch drain, and 1/2 inch top feed, am I gonna give resistance to this pump, causing heat build up?

Anyone know about flow rates and restrictions?
