1000w questions

I have a 5 by 5 tent and wanted to put 2 aircooled 1000w lights inside i will be growing in soil. How many plants would you put in this space? I have 9 20litre pots and wanted to veg for 5 weeks but am not sure if they will fit in my 5 by5 space. Also how much would one yield ruffly? thanks enyone who helps.

iirc a 1kw light only has a 6x6 footprint so 2 of them would be overkill in your tent. Your yield will be commiserate with your skill, period. If you suck then your yield will suck, if you grow fire every time you grow then your yield will be pretty good.

midnight--whats commiserate? is that a real word? lol well technically a 1000w light covers 4X4 not 6X6...2000w is a bit overkill for a 5 by 5 space, and 2 600 watts is a little underkill, maybe 1000w but leave a little space so move around or something?

What SS said. 1kW in a 5x5 space is perfect. That one foot of space between the plants and wall will make your life so much easier.

2k in a 5x5 tent will create wayyyyyyy too much heat, let alone the fact that it is toatlly overkill. One 1k will be more than enough for that tent. 9 Plants vegged to a foot, will fill that tent up nicely!

Even 2 600w lights in a 5x5 would be overkill. A single 1000w vertically in a cool tube is more than enough. If you're not growing vertically get the biggest glass enclosed hood you can find.

there is such a thing as too much light. 2000 watts for 25 ft is just that.

IMO two 600s would not be overkill for 25 square ft but it would be difficult to produce even coverage in a square area.

there is a guy on here running 1000 watts in a 3x3 and pulling good yields. edit: it kinda baffles me

lol, that's not even the right word. spell check fail. the right word is commensurate

1.having the same measure; of equal extent or duration.
2.corresponding in amount, magnitude, or degree: Your paycheck should be commensurate with the amount of time worked.
3.proportionate; adequate.
