Are you in flower yet? What kind of light do you have? If you give the model and the such I'm sure someone can offer some troubleshooting tips.

Has it worked on this grow before this?
How old are the bulb and ballast?
Is it wired for the correct voltage?

hi all yes the light was working then when it was time to come on it just stayed dim im two weeks or so into flower the light is made in canada but when i opened it it say its a venture i got it used so no real sure about age but its been on at least to grows

So it was working at full brightness in it's current location or just dimly? If it was working at full brightness, swap the bulb...

Are you using 120v to power it or 240v? Having the wrong tap connected can do things like this also...

yes it was working on 120v it went off for dark and when it was time to come on it sayed dimm ill dubbel check the voltage to make sure its right

ok, sounds like u need to start buyin GOOD bulbs...u get what u pay for venture lamps are shit.
sylvania makes a solid HID lamp also phillips and GE to name a few... never buy anything made in china, sounds like the lamp u have now may have came free with the light setup u bought....am i far off?

as for now, try this and then hit up the electrical supply store first thing in the morning (6am, yes, they should be open) and ask them for a 'DOMESTIC' 1000w hps lamp. sylvania phillips, etc.. 'no imports' as theyre reffered to in that trade...

turn off the fixture, let it cool.
unscrew the lamp with a gloved hand, give a gentle jiggle, replace back into socket twist just until snugdont over tighten a bulb into its socket, ever....or it will glue itself in if it gets too hot for too long...

it probably wont work. lol. but its worth a shot.

let the thing run like that till morning sometimes they just start working out of nowhere , sometimes they take extra-long to fire-up, sometimes they go after a week of use...like i said, use a good lamp to begin with and u wont be in this mess :p cheers

awesome. do u have any flouro tubes u can steal for use tonite? if not no need for panic, plants in nature see cloudy/stormy days often and sometimes there is NO sunlight and just darkness durin a day of thunderstorms, it happens and the plants will survive. just have it fixed for tomorrow. dont fuck with the photoperiod and by all means make sure the dark period is pitch black with no leaks and this shouldnt throw a wrench in the works whatsoever. havea good day NTG

ok here is what i get when i plug it in the very tip of the bulb is kind of yellow red and the rest is kind of blue and it flickers every so often but wont light all the way up
NTG

hey E thanks a lot i did what U said and when i looked back she was as bright as ever befor thanks so much to all of my IC FAM U all help to make my day alot britghter THANKS

go buy a (good) lamp and change it out tomorrow.
you will be thrilled at the difference in output.
keep this piece of shit as a spare :biglaugh: grow-on

Have you ruled out the possibility of a bad ignitor NTG? Usually it is the bulb in a situation like this or the ignitor...either way a spare bulb will definitely be nice to have around.
