1000w 4x4 grow questions help please

Hi all, hope everyone's doing good just came here for some help. I am getting back into growing, and by back i mean i grew 2 simple dirt 400hps grows, a while back /noob lol, long story short i quit, later ironically my Dr. suggested i get my card for anxiety and chronic knee pains , plus i sleep much better with indicas. so here i am once again but before i jump in i figured i would play it smart and ask people who know what they are doing. Going with a 4x4 grow tent beacuse i can't modify the room i am renting i have a nice big walk in closet that will fit a 4x4 tent with a little extra room to spare. I decided to go off amazon beacuse there prices looked cheap and i can order at one place, but i am more than open to switching sites or products if you guys think i should.

For ventilation I'd go with either a 6" 440cfm inline centrifugal going full bore matched to a 6" carbon filter or an 8" 700cfm inline centrifugal slowed down with that speed controler and matched to a 6" or 8" carbon filter.Always better to buy a fan that may be too large rather then get a smaller fan only to find out it's not enough.

I wouldn't even speed control the 8".

I had a tent slightly larger than that, and even in my air conditioned basement a strong inline 6" didn't keep my 6" hood cool enough.

Frankly I think growing in tents suck, but I know people like them.

I now grow in a much larger environment and found the key to cooling is to always get one size larger fan than the ducting does and run it full bore.

I have one 10" fan cooling 8 1000w, and each hood is cool enough to put your hands on. Doing that allowed me to six 8" fans.

What were the ambient temps in the basement, and how big was your intake?

i can keep my 4'x4' 1000w tent 3*-4*f above ambient. i'm using passive intake, 6" badass blower on the 6" blockbuster hood, and a 4" with a phresh lo-pro carbon filter to exhaust the tent. both fans are on speed controllers set at about 75%. i run a window banger on a t-stat controlled receptacle and all exhausting is run to outside.
can i suggest checking out this site:

great pricing, package deals, and product vids. check them out before you buy anything.

Depending on what you are going to do with your 'excess' production.... you might not need all that.

Check out this thread:

If you don't need more than what you smoke, it's a lot cheaper to set up and run. Just a thought. It's what I'm doing.

note: It'd work extremely well if you had a bathroom vent to hook to. Sending the odors out the roof is nice IF you are in fact legal. I don't know where you are... and don't know what options you have for excess product disposal either.

Ambient temps in the basement were between 65 and 68 degrees. The tent was in a 10'x10' bedroom.

I used theGrowzilla Hood, paired to a 6" inline fan.

I also had a CAN 50 paired to a 8" fan that exhausted the inside of the tent.

Hey guys thanks for reply and info, going to use amazon because i can get everything i need there and more for same price little less with my discount, Im using the tent for blooming only, growing in a 6by 8 walk in closet, going to use the little outside space to veg and clone, I am Legal medical patient in Wa state, Not worried about the smell i have a bathroom next to it going to vent into there as suggested, if i have heat issues i will upgrade fan as suggested. also i whent back to the 6inch hood / fan cause i went with a little better bulb / hood. I grabed another 6inch inline booster for the bottom of the tent to shoot fresh air in, i am thinking of venting it to a little window in the room to bring in fresh air if needed. Now the bigger issue What strain to grow lol.
