Just got a 1000 watt ballast, I grow in a large open attic its winter time. Do I need to somehow cool this light or will it be okay with a fan blowing air around in the grow area? I have no clue how to cool this light any help is appreciated.
What kind of reflector are you using?Is it an open parabolic?If its enclosed with glass you may want to remove the lens and have a fan blowing directly at the lamp besides the oscillating fan for your plants.
hey sparkjumper...Its an open white standard hood, no real reflector......do you think it will over heat the plants or do u think If I have fans on the light it will be straight.
i dont cool my 1k HPS, but everyones situation is different. an oscillating fan and good room ventilation works for me. During the hot summer i may have to do something different but this works till then.
