1000 watt diy

well I want to move up to a 1000 hps and i heard things about just buying a raw ballast and doing everything yourself...my question is how much would a complete setup cost for an 1000 hps with hood and bulb etc...Is it hard to do? even if you dont know to much about electric...is it safe?

well benny from the broncs. im not to sure about all the safety bs, cuz i dont know your craftsmenship.. if you buy a ballast box and ballast kit you should be fine and most kits come with wiring diagrams and yoru only hooking up like 4 components and a plug.. make sure the kit comes with a socket as well.. ballast and box id like to assume something like 150 shipped plus another 100-200 on a nice aircooled hood, and a bulb is like 50-100 bucks depending on what you want.

It mo certainly is cheaper (Wtf you smoking? I want some), I purchased a 1000 HPS ballast and bulb from 1000bulbs.com for $145. From a hydroshop, the same equipment would be $300+

Sorry you got robbed pal, but if your in the market, 1000bulbs.com is hands down the best place for bulbs and ballasts. I can't believe people actually pay $200+ US for a ballast & bulb. Most people just don't research before they buy I guess. See sig...

Another thing, they come somewhat pre-wired but you do need to do a little yourself. It's incredibily simple. If you have half a brain, you should be able to manage it. Positive to positive, ground to ground etc...

It's really not hard, but if you lack in electrical skills you would be better off buying from the hydro store pre wired.Expect about 10- 20 % cheaper unwired.

Didn't you just read my post? People please open the eyes, put the bong down and take a breath. I saved ***50%***. Thats half. There are alot of people here who run grow stores and sell lights, propaganda is high and dismissal of such items are common but just visit my link and see for yourself.

A 1000 Watt HPS ballast for $110, bulb for $39. Ballast comes with a 3 year warranty and bulb also has a warranty and through research, found that the lumen output vs one of the name brand (son argo, sunmaster) is less then 4k. Definately worth it and I have had nothing but great experiences with their products and lights. I notice no yeild difference between my old sunmaster and this new $39 bulb. Leads me to believe one thing, your just paying for the name. Try it out, you won't be disappointed. Ignore the naysayers and SAVE yourself money.
